Lead: Marty Friedman
Rhythm: Dave Mustaine

Dave's a KILLER lead player as well, so overall I'd say Dave is the more well rounded player in terms of being solid in every department. Marty's the more technical of the two, and is arguably the best lead player in terms of technique and overall ability Megadeth ever had. Although Chris Poland could give Marty a run for his money any day. It's pretty hard to say who's the best though. That's just how I see it.

Although I agree to a certain extent, I will be doing an in-depth interview with Chris later next week. The reults will be posted later this month.

Poland is the best at what he does. But Marty was awesome w/out being too intricate. In my mind, that's Polands downfall. The common man could never casually learn that shit.

I think that Friedman is the better overall, but I like Poland style alittle better, "Killing is my business", and "Peace sells but who's buying" have more raw solos, ofcourse half of that is Mustaine as well, but I think Poland influenced Mustaine alittle during his stint with the band.

I've got an interview with Mustaine, where he says that out of all the guitarists that have ever been in Megadeth, he was influenced by Chris the most.

If you want to hear can't be learned by the common man, listen to his solo album, "Music For Speeding."

Poland. I think Friedman was just as technically proficient, if not more so than Chris, but Chris infused his playing with some class, emotion, and flow that Marty couldn't.

Otherwise, I have to give it to Marty, simply because he put up with Dave for almost ten years of mediocre pop music.

Marty turned Megadeth into pop. He is a homo, he didnt want to do Metal anymore. When Dave said he wanted to get back to Metal, Marty quit....

I think Jeff Scott Young was the best and he played on my fave megadeth album. But why wasn't Glenn Drover listed, he fukin rules!! not only is he ruling with Megadeth now but the shit he did with King Diamond is awesome and so is Eidolon.. I gotta cheer for the canucks

Mustaine! But I voted for Pitrelli and I pray to see Drover with Megadeth onstage. But looks like they ain´t going to Europe, who knows though.

Marty, most def.

The man would whip these exotic sounding solos out of no where. And everything "fit" perfectly. Plus, I don't know if it was him who wrote it or not - but anyone who was responsible for that harmony in "ashes in your mouth" is a killer player in my book.
