So who do you think should be the opener? Personally I think after seeing Angra at Lamours they would be the perfect compliment to SyX. Both bands have amazing musicianship and killer energy, plus both have a similar symphonic sound and virtuoso guitarists :)

I love all the bands you listed!

I picked Evergrey... I think an Evergrey/Symphony X bill would just slay everything...

however... I'd rather see an Evergrey headlining tour, if possible...

I love Pain of Salvation... and I think that would be an interesting bill... but only if they were co-headliners... Pain of Salvation is too good to open for anybody...

Silent Force would be a solid opening choice.

I wish I would have gotten to see Angra on their U.S. tour... I've read many very favorable reviews of their shows... they too would be an excellent opening band.

If they do only a few shows before Europe, I'm hoping for no opener, just them. For another major tour, I pick Evergrey, maybe Vanden Plas (that would be interesting). Angra...GREAT band, but I don't go for the pair up.

Angra would probably headline...they are bigger than SX internationally.

I'd vote for Ring of Fire

seeing

Mark Boals + Russel Allen
Tony MacAlpine + Mike Romeo
Vitalij Kuprij + Mike Pinella
Philip Bynoe + Mike Lepond
Virgil DOnati + Jason Rullo

god that would be too much shred and virtuosity for these feeble ears :)

After seeing that show I would more than happily end my life if I had to :)

I voted other, especially if the Jaxx website is to be believed...they list a SymX headlining gig in late January with none other than Amon Amarth opening!

99% of you hardcore SymX fans will NOT be happy with this probably, but it sure brings a smile to my face!

It would be a dream come true for me to see a co-headlining tour with Symphony X and Pain of Salvation. I agree with earlier sentiments that PoS is way too good to be an opener, but I voted for them anyway since I don't really care for the other bands I I really want to see PoS live.

Since I haven't heard of the other bands, I'd go with Angra. Even though I really wouldn't want them to just open for them... but rather give both of them a 2-3 hour set. Now, THAT would be sweet. :-D

Symphony X and Pain of Salvation on the same night might actually kill me. The level of sheer bliss would literally kill me.

You know who I'd really love to see open for SX? Engine. THAT would be most excellent. ;)

sorry Markgugs, i talked to the drummer from symph.x at the jaxx show last night about that date w/ AA and he said they know nothing about that show and they do plan on coming back to headline around Feb. a bunch of places are putting up shows that were never confirmed.

Thank heavens!

Yeah, I figured as much. I know SymX is unaware of what some places are already posting. But I also know that Jaxx is almost ALWAYS pretty accurate when it comes to letting the cat slip out of the proverbial bag (though they did claim Hammerfall was touring with Blind Guardian). Probably for the best anyway...

I personally would like to see them play with Children of Bodom:lol: .......... haha, I'm not too sure what the probability of that pairing would be. I can imagine alexi slaying followed by Michael Romeo slaying........ it would be mind blowing!!!
