whoring my friends' band

LOL @ you. "I've seen Kreator!!!!!"

We get Kreator tickets as spam mail here, dude. I've seen them four times in two years and that's just because I had to put up with them to see another band and didn't even go to any of their headlining shows, or else it would've been more like ten times in the past two years.

Lemme guess, Mille did the "IS THEAH SOMEONE FOLLOWING YOU?!?!?!?" a capella with the kickdrum, right, and then he had the crowd repeat it? Or what about the part where he goes, "WE'RE GONNA STAAAARRRT...A VIOLENT REVOLUTION!!!!!!" I dig that song, though. Or what about his little speech before he launches into, "BECAUSE WE'RE AAAALL OOOOF THEEE SAAAAME BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!" And you're STILL equating good thrash with complicated stuff. I'm not saying that more complex thrash isn't good; I'm just saying that I prefer the simpler kind.

Not butthurt about anything, don't know where you got that from. You see, you just kinda proved the guy's point. YOU'RE the one all high and mighty about who's "real" thrash and who isn't. My only point was that I like simple, riff heavy thrash that gets your head banging. Wasn't a slight against your or anyone else's tastes. Yet here you are, once again, slagging me for mine as if thrash is some new style of metal secret kept all to yourself that no one else knows about. Come talk to me when you aren't forced into all-ages shows.

Dude, I saw Destruction (for the 6th time) open up for Candlemass a couple of years ago shortly before Messiah left. That was a memorable show, just due to the polar opposite styles.

my reply didn't go through for some reason and it's pretty pointless to argue but the bottom line is i'm not saying these bands like mantic ritual aren't real thrash, i'm just saying they suck and bring absolutely nothing new or even remotely worth listening to to the table so you should really go out and look at some of the other bands before you listen to or praise a band that so blatantly carbon copies metallica with no soul whatsoever. even metallica and megadeth now have more soul than them and they're supposed to be the old washed up ones. even though i'm the young one if you're even giving mantic ripoff the time of day it sounds like you're being the naive one.

I see what you're saying but I find a flaw in your argument. There is not one single new thrash band that isn't "ripping off" older bands. Actually they aren't ripping anyone off...it's basically a big tribute. They're just influences.

Warbringer = Kreator

Municipal Waste = BIG DRI influence

I was 11 years old when Four of a Kind came out and I've loved it ever since. You can imagine how I felt when Municipal Waste came on the scene with those classic DRI riffs.

Therefore, I realize that Mantic Ritual is ripping off old Metallica...and that's why I like them. Thrash isn't supposed to be innovative. It's there to get you to fuck shit up and bang your head. There isn't a single new big thrash band doing anything that hasn't been done almost to the T already.

Greatest thrash riff of all time

Can't forget Slumlord...."SLUMLORD....DOESN'T....CAAAAAARE!!!!!!!"

nah...more like a wannabe...Warbringer is kinda generic although i do give them points for being an energetic band...

Yer getting in waaaaaay over your head here man. I suggest turning around, swimming back to shore, and finding a different beach with safer DWaters to hang out at

edit: @deadwinter

Still butthurt about the fact that mantic ritual actually drinks metallica semen?

seriously saying stuff like its just tech bullshit makes you sound retarded. Have you even heard the new Warbringer? or even the new kreator (or i'm embarassed to say the new Exodus) is better yet still more complicated than mantic ritual and they're old as fuck. face it, you may be old but that doesn't mean you magically know what is and isn't the be all end all of good riffing but i wouldn't be surprised because you tend to be high and mighty all the time. stop sucking the punk rock cock and listen to some real heavy and headbanging shit instead of some whiney kids playing metallica rip off riffs that have been done 10 billion times with more aggression than that. even the most techy new thrash releases tend to be about the heavyness of the riff instead of breakdown shred stuff like the new deathcore bands. Go dig a bit deeper and then realize how much that straight forward carbon copy shit sucks.

I got to there and stopped reading, because wow that's fucking immature.

Why are you so goddamn sensitive about Mantic Ritual anyway? They're a bunch of good guys making some thrash who got a record label for it. I can't help but feel there's a bit of jealousy coming from you.

 That was pretty funny...DWaters.

Nah, I think he got it out of his system, especially after I told him that I wasn't really arguing with him about anything and that I actually enjoy the bands he likes as well.

Ok, so Mantic Ritual is a sensitive subject for him. That's cool, I won't push it out of respect. I can get my point across in other ways.

Thanks man! Dredg is def one of our influences for sure (though I don't really listen to them... maybe a good thing?). I'm more from the Oceansize, Biffy Clyro, Amplifier, Radiohead, Muse camp as far as this kind of music goes. Lots of fun guitar playing!

BTW, the only ones I wrote are 'This Track Is Skipping' and 'Liquid Angel' (all guitar playing is me, tho). The rest were already around for a while.

Thanks fer listenin, I'll keep you guys posted when shit starts hap'nin...

You know, when I get done rocking hard, I need to cool off. And nothing cools me off like a crisp refreshing DR PEPPER
