Why chris broderick owns you.

I'm sure it would, but my point was that a video of Chris playing a Mozart piece fails to own me. See thread title "why Chris Broderick owns you". So I was just disagreeing with that. I'm sure if he had posted a video of Chris playing one of his own solos that would've been more interesting. Don't get me wrong, I think Chris has amazing technique, it's just that most videos I've seen of him playing have been far from mindblowing. It takes a little more than great technique to impress me.

Broderick is great, but there are an ass-load of guys who can do swept/tapped, contoured arpeggios by themselves. What sets CB apart is the fact that he can get down righteously into the deep, deep Nevermore groove and then sweep with soul.

What sets Loomis apart from him is that Loomis wrote those riffs and that, my friends, is no joke. In fact, it's high-time Jeff got his recognition as one of the great riff-masters in the history of metal.

i dunno who wrote the POE middle part, but it doesn't matter, whoever wrote it wins a fucking cookie.
Also jeff wrote death of passions which is also pwnzorz. And steve wrote a future uncertain which also wins.

and, I don't like power metal

I can't believe I missed this thread!

Here are some Chris samples that he wrote......... Yes he rules.

Here's why both Jeff and Chris rule (even if they didn't write this, i think they only had a few minutes before the show to prepare for it)
