Why do musicians make music?

Do you other musicians agree with NAD that you don't really have control over what you write?

if that was the case all of you should be eating up the latest Metallica releases ... with fries

My personal thoughts: I make music because when I listen to my favorite bands and get the chills because of the epic glory that I'm listening to, I want to re-create that in my own way. It's just expression...

music is just another form of expression, like poetry, painting, etc; it doesn't have to be any deep concept. I'm not a musician but now and again I break out the keyboard and noodle away, for fun.

it can be good, or bad, but of course those kinds of judgements are SUBJECTIVE. One man's Maiden is another man's Arch Enemy.
