Why Do Necrophagist Solos...

Technique wise he's on par if not better than Becker.

How he incorporates that is all opinionated though.

Fair enough. Paul Gilbert takes the cake for technique though, in case you were the only one that did not already know that

when i saw necrophagist live for the first time i didnt know what to expect they where the starting band at this line-up

main: Bolt Thrower
3e: Malevolent Creation
2e: Nightrage (where i came for)
they played first: Necrophagist

and this line-up for only 9euro's

i seriously have never been that blown away by i band i never heard of

I wasn't talking about the riffs. Muhammed plays the same patterns and sweep-picked arpeggios in every solo, he is not brilliant in that regard. Hell, all the songs are in the same key! Tapped arpeggios aren't anything too hard anyway. I don't find his soloing anything truly special. Do I like the band, yes I've bought both of their cds. I wouldn't even consider Muhammed a pimple on Becker's ass though.

I'd take that comment more seriously if not for 3 of the 4 bands in your sig... :goggly:

For someone without any sort of education on the instrument, and obviously very much influenced by Malmsteen and Chuck, I can only say enormous props to him for blending them into something recognizable and awesome-sounding, while continuing to challenge himself - I wish I'd had that stamina. Can't wait for the third album to see if he's improved his skills and songwriting!

With Becker, however amazing his technique, I've always found his style to not stand out enough from the GIT crowd. I preferred Marty's playing in Cacophony, with his oriental influences, even if his technique might not be as developed as Jason's. My personal favorite would be Ron Jarzombek, though, and it being November I'm pretty sure Blotted Science's Machinations Of Dementia will be my album of the year.

Muhammed said that they're using 7 strings on the next CD. This will either destroy the band or just blow our skulls off of our necks
