Why do people collect vinyl?

I wouldn't say that I "collect" vinyl any more than I "collect" CDs. I buy them because I want to listen to them.

I do, however, buy vinyls even if I already have them on CD for "having the original" purposes.

I do that too, but I do so for other reasons as well, such as (obviously) the more prominent art work, the superior sound of vinyl, the bonus posters and patches, etc.
