Why the F**CK Cubase records metronome?

Hi guys,

Have had this issue, never paid attention, but now it pisses me off.
I track guitars and everything to the click, that is pretty much obvious.
However, DAW records metronome sound to DI. Probably it adds the metronome noise while I mix-down it?

Here it is:

You can clearly hear - 1/8 metronome at the beginning.

Question is how to avoid it?

Cheers!

my guess is it's your pickups or interface, not cubase. most likely pickups, though. you tried just recording an empty input with the click going?

yes, I do. Approximately 2 meters between speakers and the guitar.

Can try to switch them off, and record with cans.

I have the same problem with my interface ( firepod). I had to buy a Minimon just to use outputs 3-4 of my interface because if I use outputs 1-2, my inputs are recording what is being played. And it does it with my monitors off and nothing plugged.

I have a JB loaded les paul that does this as well; mighty annoying since i hate playing through headphones; my other LP with gibson 498T pickup however seems more shielded and does not leak the click back into the track.

Well, this track was recorded using LTD-M400 and my Gibby, both 81's in bridge .
I hear metronome in both R and L channels, and therefore I guess guitar is not an issue. However, my Gibby was a bit more on the noisy side while tracking.

Is it a Presonus interface? I have just discovered my Firebox bleeds if I use the mic/instrument ins (the ones with a preamp, so I am guessing it is my Firebox's preamps). Every passing day I want to kill all the people in Presonus more and more.

OK. Whoever is up to, I'm willing on destroying the Presonus HQ and torturing everyone working there until they promise they will quit the audio industry. I can't believe I spent all my savings in a fucking interface that has dropouts, bleeds, clicks, pops and all kind of shit. Worst thing is that I bought it in the USA (and I live in ARgentina, so I can't send it back or shove it up a Presonus tech support guy's ass)

HAHA you're not alone dude

The worst thing that happened with my firegayshit was when. a couple of weeks ago, I went to bed and all was fine, but then when I woke up the next morning the audio was playing with a lot of distortion/pops etc. I tried a lot of things to finally reinstall the same exact drivers, and then it worked.

Awesome.

This is satellite. I have made a little test, recording with monitors ON or using cans.
Obviously there is not that much of a difference. Fucking click is there, doesn't matter whether monitors are on or off, it records click even with detached cable and guitar.

+ LOTS of hum in there.

Here is the short clip:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1459728/HUM_and_Click.mp3

Everything goes in sequence , 4 bars each:

1. Guitar attached (cans only, monitors are off)
2. Guitar detached (cans only, monitors are off)
3. Cable detached, interface only (cans only, monitors are off)

4. Guitar attached (monitors are ON)
5. Guitar detached (monitors are ON)
6. Cable detached, interface only (monitors are ON)

So, I hear that click and LOTS of hum. X-Hum helps, however it is not the solution. Gotta kill a source of that fucking hum and clicks.

For Firebox users, I found something that SEEMS to work (at least for now) for the bleed. Do up to step 4 as written in this article (ignore step 1, basically you just have to do that thing with the USELESS Firebox mixer): http://kc.flex-radio.com/Print50199.aspx

Red_f0x, try this: mute your interface's preamps and bring their gain knobs to 0 (I mean no gain at all), plug your guitar in the line ins and record with the click on and don't play the guitar. Check if there's bleed that way too. If there is not, it's the preamps fucking up.

Well now it is obviously not Cubase that does it. What is that then? Hardware? IS Satellite that bad that doesn't split useful data and metronome clicks?
Cables aren't issue, cuz they are Mogami, Neutric connectors.
