Why bands like this makes money and get famous?

It's so unfair, there are a lot better bands out there.:bah:

The answer is: well marketed, gimmicky mediocrity has mass appeal.
It has nothing to do with who are the 'better band' so stop pretending it does. That's not the game that's being played there.
The market/audience is not made up of those looking for the leading edge of creativity and innovation in music... so those pursuing that will not tap into it.

And you know what, I swear I would never have heard of this band or quite a few other bunches of talentless retards, if it wasn't for threads like this....

Are you wasting your life obsessing over things you don't like?

It looks like an incredibly fucked up ORTF, hardly X/Y and more like a super narrow A/B.

well, true, when I took a second look at the capsules it does look wierd, but somehow I doubt they shell out so much money for a room like that just to fuck up the overheads.

oh, and we're beeing super nerdy right now

It looks like the "We put the mics close together and pointed them at the cymbals" technique. They probably didn't think much farther than that.

its more of a near coincident technique than anything else still . still pretty fucked up though , the mics are not set to the exact same height and they are both just pointing down so it pretty much just 2 mics acting as a single mono OH

In other news of mediocrity. My acquiescence on facebook (who loves this shit) informs me that Make me Famous has been signed to Rise (you know with that asshat who got a sandy vag over any criticism).

So the formula is pretty simple guys:

1. Put together a band that wears tight jeans and stupid looking tees.
2. Practice synchronized crab dance dumps and simultaneous jumps.
3. Play some single note rhythm lines, simpler the better of course.
4. Snag a kid who is into techno and has a couple synths to write some cheesy lines to play over you riffs.
5. Grab yourself a shitty singer, the crappier the better you really want to bring out the fact that auto tune was used.
6. Send to Rise get contract.
7. Profit????? Haha probably not.

Also, this band while still a turd did themselves a favor by getting rid of this hack of a singer:

No amount of complaining about this stuff will make you any more money.
It won't give you peace of mind either.

You'll remain annoyed and sometimes legitimately angered because of "gimmicky" and "talentless" bands making money.

I think people lose sight of what music is all about.. when you listen to your favorite band, you feel good, right?

This band is the favorite band of many, believe it or not.

I can't find anything wrong with people enjoying the music. Positiveness all around!

On the other hand, spending time to be negative about something.. well, I can find plenty wrong with that.

It's really not that hard to just ignore things like this.. and by becoming able to accept that music you may not like will sometimes succeed is an absolute, you'll find yourself in a much happier mental position because you'll be able to say "who gives a fuck? This band sucks but they do what they love and people enjoy their music so good for them. Back to focusing on doing what makes me happy instead of what makes me jealous and what annoys me!"

Excuse the petty preaching.

It angers people because it completely debases the musical/sonic ideas that it cack-handedly mashes together, and allows them to be successful for it.
The fact that they are scene kids and fucking Christians does not help in the slightest.

It's fine to think that way even though the set of ideals that you go by to think that way aren't, in the slightest, absolute.

I just don't get why people are okay with getting worked up about it.
I guess it's not my business. It's just a disappointment because when you see a situation like this in perspective, what you have is a [probably relatively unsuccessful] musician/music enthusiast becoming angry because of the success of another musician, with whom they do not share views/ideals/interests/etc.

It's jealousy. And jealousy has got to be the most stupid and pointless emotion a human can feel.

I mean, this thread really isn't so bad. But damn, I've seen some really stupid elitists who are in their upper twenties and probably living with their parents, speaking ridiculous things about "scene" bands like this.. I just don't get why they let themselves do that stuff.

I guess it isn't my business though. It annoys me just like you guys get annoyed by scene band success. I should take my own advice and ignore it. lol

Why are you assuming it's jelousy?
I genuinely would not wan't to be in their position/have what ever abilities they have that have allowed them to be there.
They make shit, watered down music and are succesful, that's frustration at their fan's ignorance.... not jelousy.
I'm perfectly willing to accept that their fans genuinely enjoy their music, but I'm guessing not many of them realise how objectively shit it is.
And yes, I do like plenty of shit music, but I know and acknowledge it.

I don't understand why this band in particular keeps being posted here though, most of us are aware of them. In fact it's the only place I really know them from....
