Will Opeth Do More UK Dates?

I'm just wondering because there are only something like three dates all in England. They kind of forgot Glasgow. I'm a bit bummed because it's impossible to make it all the way to Birmingham unless I have a place to crash AND trains are damn expensive. Haven't seen them (or any gig) in over two years. :(

well i imagine because of the proximity between scotland and england they decided not to tour both countries

Glasgow to Birmingham would be about a 6 hour (or more) train trip and probably cost about £70 (if not more...£100+ wouldn't surprise me). Imagine the people who live even further north who are fans. :err:

They're doing Manchester dude, unless it's sold out already. Check opeth.com. I just don't think they could be arsed to do Scotland as they're only touring main European countries!

whenever any metal band comes to the uk you always get fags in some gay remote area complaining that said band doesnt come near them. youd think theyd have gotten used to it by now but no.

nobody cares about scotland

I agree. Scotland is the secluded part of England which has very little communication with the outside world. I've been to Scotland and all the men wear skirts(kilts) and play their traditional music.

There are very few Metal fans in Scotland and a band like Opeth playing a gig in Scotland could destroy the band, you wouldn't want that to happen would you?

The last two tours Opeth played at the Glasgow Cathouse and Garage and at those times I was living in England...the last one getting stranded in Birmingham overnight in freezing weather. Now that I'm near Glasgow I was thinking "well, cool, they and most bands play here and it's easy to get home" and they don't do a date. Fucking typical.

Playing to ignorant people such as some of those who post in this forum destroys what people think of the fans, that's for sure.

By the way, having lived in both England and Scotland, I think Scotland is a much better place. So get your ignorant asses off your high horses.

having never been to either one, i can say clearly that the USA stomps them both

That kind of elitist American attitude is exactly why I came to study here and not there.

Unless, of course, part of the joke was the "having never been to either one" part. If it wasn't a joke, then look at what I said to the guy a few posts up.

Fuck England where were they at my Airshow, nowhere, and we are in thier fucking commonwelth. Pissing around in fartsville with thier shitty Eurofighters, global reach my ass. Thankyou USA once again you make my day.
