Winamp 5 Beta 2 was released last week. Basically, Winamp 5 takes the things you loved about Winamp 2.x and adds Winamp 3 skinability. I haven't noticed any bugs so far, and the new modern skin alone is worth the download!

From the Winamp forums:

The "5" is just a working title, and may or may not be used.. The (slightly amusing) thought is that Winamp 2 + Winamp3 = Winamp 5

They may change the name before the final comes out though.

the new skin is awfully bloated so i switched back to classic skin... other than that the thing passes the test i guess

i'm on a fast computer though so i wouldn't notice if it's any slower than 2.x
