winter holiday wishlists... for anything

I've played some nice Squiers and compared to a Fender std. the phrase "you get what you pay for" comes to mind, but they certainly aren't trash. For general farting around, why not?

That RD300 looks pretty nice, the humbucker + jazz pickup configuration should lead to a lot of tones, and I've always trusted Ibanez to make a solid instrument.

Marksveld, SG400 = win, I didn't know they were that cheap now! When I was younger I used to always play those in music stores just because they had the best looking headstock, turns out they played incredibly nice too. :D

Haha, was the "horn" thing intended? If so, you're silly

right on.. my dad actually got me it for my 15th birthday. at musician's friend, the choices of colour were grey and black... the grey being $300 and the black being $400. Obviously, I took the grey- fuck paying $100 more for a snazzy finish, something that is unfortanutly common today.

lizard I hope you get that. I hope I do too.

Yeah I'm not into paying extra for a specific finish, that's pretty weak. I guess it depends though, if you're getting a flamed maple top instead a solid color, that makes sense. What's up with paying 25% (or would that be 33%) more just for black though!?

Win. I love digital drumsets, you get all the benefits of a drum machine but with the soul and skill of an actual drummer.

I want this, this shall be my next bass because I've never played something with such sweet a tone while looking this damn beautiful. Bonerific.

Buying a second bass pedal before receiving the actual drumset = metal. I did the same thing when I got my kit (err, a double bass pedal, not just an extra pedal). :D

Fretless are way fun. That bass goes for $1100 new, I foolishly let a used but still looking in great condition one get away from me on eBay, it sold for only $440. :erk:

Cool, good cymbal tone. That's what I always listen for in any digital drum setup, how realistic the cymbals are.

See it from my point of view:

-No room for a real set, no room at all, absolutely not
-My parents/household cannot put up with the noise that is in included
-Limited budget for good stuff

For people like me, its the right choice. Ideally, I'd ABSOLUTELY prefer to have myself an 8 piece pearl with some good Sabian cymbals, but that just cannot happen. :(

don't take it personally, but Pyrus sees any music without a real drummer against the "spirit" of metal.

and he's right. If you ever saw a thrash band take the stage with an electronic drumset they'd get laughed off the stage.

Dynamic control has actually come a long way, even my $99 drum machine has touch sensitive pads. I mean no, no digital drum mechanism will ever replace an actual drummer with real drums, but for necessary alternatives like Marksveld stated, it's good shit.

I was in love with this lady fox in some Disney book when I was little, so yeah I'd hit that shit too.
