Is this the correct way to pronounce the bands name? silent S right? or is it Woods of epre? or maybe Whypres?

haha. I knew how to pronounce it from History class actually. we were studying WW1 and Woods of Ypres is a significant battlefield where Canada fought. though I'm sure a lot of you knew that from the thread about it

Having visited Ypres, it seems to vary in how it is pronounced, depending on the speakers elocution. Although generally it is EE-PREZ.

Woods of "Eepr"
Inderdaad, I have to second that.

Of course the band themselves pronounce it "Ee-pray" so in this case I'll have to go with that. Flemflames is correct regarding the Flemish town, though.

I suppose this is all semantic, due to the various accents we all have. North Americans tend to emphasise the GOW in Glasgow, when native Scot's would use a more OH sound, so I suppose providing we're not calling it Spoongadoolahdahd, then we're all correct :p
