What do you guys reckon? I've just sat down today and spent a few hours fucking with it from scratch etc.

Let me know what you think! What you like, what you think needs changing etc!

Cheers folks!

As the sun lay upon his skin,
His eyes closed, looking within,
The wind shows a warmer scene,
And the man begins to soar,

In the passing light,
The wind beneath his mind,
He flies above the cell,
Devoid of all his strain,

The end, is just a game to him,
For fear of losing all has never crossed his mind,

In the shadow of the man who kept you inside all these years is,
Light,

You will find all that you seek if you just look out,

Well, this sound much better than the first time I listened (before any update), haha. Really like the guitar tone. Really good mix overall, actually. Only thing I can think of is that I think the vocals sound a little bit too close and dry, but that's just me, haha. Perhaps trying to create more depth and space in the overall mix. <:

Wow, your vocals are nice. For just a few months of growling this is really impressive. I guess because of the right breath control from the singing, you've learned really fast. But that's just a guess.

What did you change in your way to process the bass? And what did you do to get your guitars to sit quit nicely right at the side of your bass? Is this itb or did you reamp your tones?

Thank you man! I agree on the vocals I'm not fully happy with how they sit int he mix atm. I've moved over to a new interface and it captures so much detail compared to my old one.

Thanks man! I'm not totally happy with my vocal tone as of yet, it's a bit too whiney for me so I'm going to keep working on it to get it more "brutal" alongside Meshuggah more etc.

Thank you for the compliments! I've only been growling for more like a month so that means a lot. I've been singing for a few years though so I think that has aided my breath and control a lot more than perhaps a complete new guy to vocal technique.

With regards to the bass it used to be a pitch shifted guitar. Now it's a bass (as this clip shows you).

I have 3 tracks running, one is low passed down to around 200 or so (just until the sub sits nicely with the guitars). 2nd track is high passed to about 200 then EQ'd to poke holes for the guitars and vocals, this track has a touch of grit on it just for body. Third track is complete distortion and blended in, low passed to about 700 or so.

Guitars are pretty dry.. just recorded with TSE X50 and a decent impulse with keFIR cab sim. Minimal EQ if any from what I recall.

Cheers man!
