It's miles ahead of HINTF. It didn't have bad songs like "Get a Life". :saint:

Q2K was a decent record - Right Side of My Mind is a killer track and Tribe was a really good album too.

I thought Mindcrime 2 was pretty good, and if it were released with another name most people would consider it a good 'ryche album. The biggest problems with that record were the boring production values and the title of the disc. Mindcrime comes with HUGE expectations and I don't know if Queensryche could have possibly fulfilled expectations.

I am relatively new in these boards so will tread lightly here...but IMO American Soldier was a boring, bland, going nowhere type of an album. The same meandering rubbish QR have put out since Promised Land. Agree, production was miles ahed of OMII (which incidentally, I enjoyed despite the already noted flaws). If I want a good QR fix nowdays I revert to putting on my old Lethal or Hittman records from the late 80s..pity.

Other disappointments:

Katatonia - better than TGCD, but heard it all before
Vader - too short, same old same old
Hardcore Superstar - 3 or 4 good songs and thats it
Hammerfall - yeah agree with most of you..same old formula.
Evile - Infected Nations..a bit too formulatic & slick for me...
Suffocation - Blood Oath. Average IMO.

FWIW, I liked Saxon, loved KISS and Behemoth; and thought Immortal was reasonable given that the days of Pure Holocaust are well and truly over..

Corey Clarke was magnificent with Warrior Soul, but man he is a bad fit for Trouble. The guy's voice is shot.

i liked "get a life":erk:

World Painted Blood was fun for a few weeks, but I never feel like revisiting it anymore. I'd rather just listen to Reign in Blood.
