There were a couple of albums for me:
Iced Earth - Framing Armageddon. There are a few good songs on here (title track, ten thousand strong, the clouding) but why Schaffer insisted on padding the whole thing out with some supposedly 'epic' interludes I'll never know. It's a shame however, the previously mentioned tracks kick ass.
Nile - Ithyphallic. Not that bad, but it sounds to me like some stuff they had left over from AotW. I'm not a fan of the production either.
Arch Enemy - Rise of the Tyrant. Boring, stale riffing which lacks the awesome melodies the band used to come up with. I'm not the biggest fan of them so I can't say I'm disappointed, but yeah.
Ozzy Osbourne's needs no explanation, as does Hellyeah.
In terms of the new Down, I quite liked it. It's not as good as their previous two and Phil's voice is starting to go to shit, but it is still an enjoyable record nonetheless. Only problem is it gets a bit boring after repeated listens.
Indeed, Hellyeah are fucking garbage. Damageplan might be simple and accessible but its passable.
I only heard one song from the new Down record and I liked it.
