uh, i wouldnt be suprised if the mellow cd has around 16 short songs. i don't really expect all those to be 10 minutes, but i guess we'll see soon enough.

Katatonia's new peroid is also good.. just different... I don't give a fuck if Opeth's new release is a 40 songs grindcore epic.. Aslong as it makes them happy... They do it for themselves.. Not for us, we can't judge them or say anything... I don't think it's our buisness....

I'm of the idea that with the exception of certain kind of albums (such as concept, live or compilations) most of them should be 45 min tops. that way it's pretty digestible, and it is enough time to develop a sound nicely, I think. I hate it that a lot of bands keep making 60-70 minute albums... it tires with unecessary fillers, really.

eh, i don't think so, personally. i love a long 70 minute album to listen to. sometimes there is a few crappy songs sometimes there isnt. i dont think there's any filler tracks on morningrise ;]

Morningrise was and still is my fave Opeth release...
It taught me that you do not need 10000 songs in the album to make it right... those five were the perfect mix....
