Hi, well I haven't the faintest idea about what "Agathocles" means

It's neither a common word nor a slang one. I think it's a greek name, at least it sounds so.
Black Metal releases aren't forbidden at all here, it's even the contrary, hence the hundreds of underground BM bands all over the country, and some quite "known" labels too. I'm not a BM fan though, and the local scene in the south is quite extreme at times...... well I don't want to start a polemical debate here, and I think you can figure it out by yourself. It's just not my thing at all.
On to the froggy Metal scene... that's a wide topic

It used to be very active in the mid 80s (Sortilège, Trust, ADX, Morsure, Blasphème, etc.), then it almost died in the late 80s and then in the 90s, except for a few death metal bands mainly. Lately the scene is rising up again with very diverse styles this time, not only for heavy or death metal bands like it used to be in the past. We still lack pure thrash acts though
Some bands who may be able to be known abroad, or are already known, I'm not sure : Scarve (modern "atmo" death, think Strapping Young Lad meets early Soilwork meets death metal), Manigance (power/prog), SUP(uration) (weird and unique dark/death metal), No Return (technical thrash/death), Lyzanxia (melodic modern heavy/thrash/death, but
not ala Gotenburg), Anorexia Nervosa (sellout black ahah, just kiddin' you see what I mean), Malédiction (heavy), Kragens (modern heavy/power/thrash), Misanthrope ("artsy" melodic heavy/death, not ala Gotenburg once again), Adagio (prog/neoclassical), The Old Dead Tree (dark/goth), Dyslesia (melodic heavy/speed), Rest in Peace (prog), Korum (technical deathcore), Gojira (??? listen by yourself ahah), Nehemah (raw black), Seyminhol (heavy/epic), Luen-Ta (technical death), Furia (melodic heavy/black), Nightmare (heavy) and of course long time metallers Killers (speed) & Loudblast (thrash/death). Some of them might become famous one day, who knows...
I hope it helps.
As for the Metal music I prefer.... well we're in the old-school part of Ultimate Metal, that says it all

I like all kinds of classic 70's/trad/power/speed-thrash/prog metal, some old-school death metal as well.
Some modern stuff too, but I don't know which genre(s) to mention... some bands then : Nevermore, Evergrey, Strapping Young Lad, Ayreon, The Haunted, Grip Inc, Therion, Hypocrisy, early Soilwork, Into Eternity, Dark Tranquillity, After Forever, things like that...
No black metal though, sorry

Except if you consider Celtic Frost, Mercyful Fate, Venom and (late) Immortal to be BM. Norsecore or is just not for me hehe, no offence.
