What would you prefer to buy, A XPS Dell, or Alienware?

I myself would have to go with XPS because of the terabyte, because that's alot of porn stored there. But then again, Alienware has the capasity ro run the latest games with its 3.5 Ghz processor. Anyway, what would you prefer?

Don't Dells only offer Intel chips? You want AMD (it's the better gaming CPU) ..so go Alienware.

Not to mention, I hear Alienware has the best service if you need it.

Gaming PCs are high performance and will do pretty much anything. With that said though, you can probably build a much better system yourself for about 1/3 of the price. I'd recommend you check out Falcon Northwest or Voodoo PC if you're not a DIY person, they build consistantly higher performing PCs. One of my friends bought an alienware and hes had to RMA it a couple of times for repair. also yes AMD is best for gaming

Here are a few things to consider:

LCD: If you're getting one .. get a response time < 12ms if you're into FPS games. And don't go ViewSonic.

Board: Don't go cheap on the board, and make sure it's PCI-Express / Socket 939 etc. I've always been fond of ASUS.

Video Card: If you're an average gamer a 6600gt card would suit you well (it's actually a great card for the price) ..but if you want the best frame rate you can get, think more towards the 7800gtx :D *drools*

CPU: I'd say AMD 64 3200+ minimum (winchester core or better) .. but remember, if you're getting Socket 939 (which you should) you can always upgrade easily so, this may cut some of the cost as going with a cheaper CPU to start isn't so bad.

definalty Alienware! if you can afford it LOL. expensive.

just because Intel is comming out with 4.0 GHz processors, but they got shipped back because they melted everything cause of there power and the computers couldn't handle it.

but the alienware computers were the only computer to withstand the power of the 4.0 GHz processor, so i would say go Alienware!

XPS are nice, its more affordable...

it all comes down to your budget though

Dell = bullshit.
Alienware = bullshit with a higher price tag.

If you're serious, get a GOOD computer cheap. get a custom one from a place like ibuypower.com or one of those.

Bullshit, Viewsonic has the VX924, 4ms 19 inch, it's awesome. Also, I wouldnt get anything over 8ms for games.

Also, Samsung kicks ass, they just released a new 19 inch Synchmaster with 3-4ms refreshrate... get it.

Those little ibuypower sites (and others) all blow.

Build your own, get exactly what you want out of your pc. And you dont need the customer suport from any of the computer manufacturers if thats what your worried about, just make sure you buy from reputable sites that will allow you to return faulty hardware.

I bought a pc from Cyberpowerinc.com (i wodner if they are still in business) and I got on for my brother and 1 for my cousin there...

They all sucked. I thought "hey they let you pick like EVERY part from a list, its like building your own, only a little cheaper and less shipping"

Never again...
