Yet another reamp thread (that $350 Radial kit)

I have the Redeye. I use it for reamping. I use the DI for hardware synths and some basses. On my passive guitars, I notice a significant amount of "bite" is lost when using the Redeye, as opposed to the Pro48, an active DI, or the transformerless DIs on some of my preamps.

can someone please explain to me what a reamp box does? ive asked in like 3 of these threads but noone seems to respond

i dont see why recording guitar directly into your computer then using an output from your interface later into an amp wouldnt work?

b/c the level and impedance are wrong.
A reamp box takes line level and converts it to instrument level so that your amp (theoretically) reacts the same way it would if you plugged the guitar directly in.

sorry for reviving an old thread but that's what the search option is for...

2 questions:

1. is the Radial jd 48 NOTICEABLY better than other DI's?
iv'e heard very good things about it yet i wonder if there's really a difference, after all it's just converting impedance...

2. so all the X-amp does is just splitting the output line into 2 separate lines so you can use 2 different amps at the same time?
if so, why not just re-amp twice and save the money?
