once at AIDS action i went to visit with a friend who was kind of clueless and he saw a big bowl of condoms and, reaching in to get some, realised they were all "female condoms".

Basically, the WHOLE story is that someone posted a thread on SOT saying we should get Billy Milano to post on our board because he's a piece of shit, and that prompted several SOTers to go over to the Billy Milano board and mess around with them. As far as I know, trolling is posting malicious stuff. Everything posted by SOTers was either "off color" but overtly humorous or entirely respectful in disagreeing with the homophobic racist views of the posters there. Deron shit a brick and in a rash fit of emotionality, he banned I think 8 posters initially, several of whom hardly participated in the "forum war" and one of whom was trying hard to get the others to stop the war from before it even started. After his temper tantrum/power trip, Deron actually went back through and read a few of the posts that he'd banned people for and realized that he was being ridiculous.

One of the users that was banned had had a picture of two guys kissing with the words "RIP Diamond Darrell 1966-2004" across it in pink. Sure, it was distasteful, but then Deron banned him for it and made some ridiculous comments in SOT when we were all yelling at him for the unjust bannings over rules he never formally showed anyone. One such comment was:

I just don't get banning him from here where it's the land of boobies, pubics, midgets, blacks, schlongs, one liners, show me your crotch, nude pics, etc. etc. I just don't see that he does anything more here than anyone else. So again, please show me so we can be done with it.

We were all like "huh?" And then I talked to the user that was banned for that sig and he told me that Deron's reasoning for banning him was that "this isn't a gay pride forum." So Deron went on his "don't post anything gay, it might offend the cavemen and christians" tirade. Then people started making funny signatures

It's all pretty ridiculous, enough so that we decided to split off to a new forum. Not cause we have an insatiable urge to post gay sex or anything, just because the principle of it is pretty clear.

Short version: A very dopey ordeal of internet drama that wasted too many hours of my time. Some company became rich off their "Activist for a Day" kits for sure.

Brief version: Or you can know the truth and hear that I banned dudes for trolling Milano after being told numerous times not to troll other forums on UM.com. I had the joy of wading through 17 threads and Billy messaging me about it, fun. I banned all who participated because I didn't know if it was an ongoing attack, so I would unban as necessary after I went through all the threads (which I did unban many and they/I apologized).

This followed up by me asking a guy not to use a signature of two dudes french kissing with the words "RIP Dimebag 196? - 2004" since this wasn't a "gay pride" board but a Metal music community (not that I have anything against gays as I told them a million times, even though the pic was used just to tick people off) and many people may not want to see that while they are surfing the forums here (the poster also had posts in other forums here in UM.com so of course the pic showed there too). All of this capped off with many becoming activist for a day and posting gay pride pics in their signatures (which I let them, as long as they stuck in the Seriously Off Topic forum) then they decided to split and make their own forum. A classic "be a rebel!" case that you will see next month in detail on the FOX in the special "Trolls gone Wild", airing after "Nanny 911" and "Who's your Daddy!"
