Not surprisingly my list is almost exclusively dominated by releases from the past few years. That either means all of truly great releases were generally confined to the second half of the decade or that I need to explore the first half more thoroughly.

Actually it should be from 2001-2010. There can be no year zero so you count from 1-10, the second decade would go from 11-20 and so on. the year 2000 is the last of the 20th century.

I think we've discussed this before...

A Flame...is amazing, no doubt, but it's too short to be my favorite album ever. There are two instrumentals, which aren't bad but do nothing for the album, really. So, all in all, there are only around 5 or 6 actual songs on there. But they are great. Pure and Cry of a Restless Soul and Highlander are all jaw dropping.

For the purpose of making one of these lists, I think it's far better to go from 2000-09 because you're grouping together the 2000s. Just like, if you went back further, you would be grouping together all of the 90s (1990-99), 80s (1980-89) and so on.
