well, it's difficult to do your second time...obviously there aren't new plot points, but it makes you sympathetic to/patient with different characters because you find out different secrets before others. academically, it's nice to do again.
i'm interested to hear if you end up Shadist or Kinbotean or neither by the time you're done. (don't look those terms up until after you've finished and thought about the book)

Roger that. I think I'll pick up Lolita and the other translated books you mentioned earlier. I'm guessing the translated works don't flow as well as the English stuff, but if this book is any indication it'll be interesting anyway.

they're still awesome--many of his works he translated himself, or collaborated with his translator, or co-translated them with his son, so they're not like regular translations--they're still genuine Nabokov.
