Wanted to get some feed back on my album cover. It's for a melodeath band. I know I still have to cut it down to cover size still but i figured Id get a reaction first.suggestions are welcome

It's pretty nice done, but it reminds me too much of something too much like 'Nightwish Gone Bad'.

Because its not Tarja on the cover? The girl really lames it up, imo.
The background kind of reminds me of a less-gold Two Hunters : /

Edit: Unless shes the singer, than the band was smart enough to realize shes the only one that's going to get attention.

Agreed with Cliff. Either she's the singer or get rid of her. Unless she's the centre of the lyrics and it's a conceptual album about her, but then I'd say you've chosen a really ghey theme for a melodeath album. Still, you people have the last call on it :)

If you guys are interested I can post my band's cover artwork. It's all done by me because money doesn't grow on trees and everything, but I think I did a pretty acceptable job :)

Orange + Muddy Green = No.

The girls corset and the orange logo look pretty disgusting when combined with the brown and green look of the cover.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I'm tossing this one then. If anyone has their bands album art by all means post away

Exactly. Plus it's good that the font it's clear, but that one is too basic imho. Also, what's with the girls? Is it a really important part of the lyrics or what? I think it fucks up the whole thing for a melodic death metal band. It'd be awesome if it was e.g. a Steve Vai album, but not for a melodeath album imho.

i don't mind the concept, but photoshop-wise is a bit amateur, it looks like something i'd do  just because it's a metal band, you don't need satan in the cover and unreadble font. If eventually you get a deal, they would change to something more simple anyway.

I don't say they have to get satan, I actually think the whole satan thing is quite stupid, but a melodeath band won't usually have lyrics singing about fairies and unicorns and a princess guarded by a dragon, context in which it'd fit the girl-themed album cover. If the band is femeale-fronted or the album spins around the story of a girl then great, but otherwise I don't think it'd fit, but again, thta's their call, I was just giving my opinion.

what the balls are you talking about?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

That Steve Vai would be one of the players/bands I'd expect to pull out such an album cover if it's not a femeale fronted band. Just for your peace of mind, I love Vais music, I wasn't insulting him or anything. Oh, and I had seen the first question mark, you didn't need 37457375679637984657983462562475632479856237984539827597823465798234657982346597834625978234659783624598763249576329475 ;)

New cover is better, but cover art really means shit-all to me, personally. Unless you are getting it professionally done, its not going to be very professional looking. Its not bad, especially if its for a demo, but thats just me.

If you are going to say you live in the 4th weathiest county, in the wealthiest country in the world, you really shouldn't be telling anyone that you aren't rich. Are you trying to hide the fact you are rich to stay tr00metalzz?
