lets share our most annoying bugs and solutions here!

- when working on bigger projects (100+) in cubase 6 and you experience (cubase terminates now... for now reason - messages) crashes,
it might be elastique time .

so on projects like that, switch to standard time stretching mode, and everything works smoothly again.
you cna do that in the pool (ctrl+p) and change the stretching mode there.

keep em coming!

Over 30 tracks and it crashes when quitting. But I think this is a issue with ilok plug ins...

Btw, 6.05 user here

I have a workaround for that crashing guys!

It is related to a plug-in you are using, I think Waves or really any iLok plug is what causes it, just a guess though. So here is what you do:

You have the project open and working on it. You are done and want to close it, so do File>Save like usual but don't close it or quit Cubase yet. Instead, you do File>New Project. Make it an empty project, totally blank. It will ask where to save it to, just hit enter wherever it automatically chose, it doesn't matter. I forget if it asks or not but if it does ask if you want to activate it say yes. Now once that finishes loading and everything, quit Cubase. It should quit with no problem now instead of crashing. I know this works on OSX with 6.03, can't say for sure it will work for Windows users though.

Other than that I have really not had any issues with Cubase 6 that I can recall. Well, there was the whole no transparent events thing with the initial release but they fixed that with an update eventually so in hindsight that wasn't really a big deal, to me.

My favourite bug is the crash after halting playback on large tracking sessions, with lots of punch-ins. Necessitates a reboot of the system, and makes the clients feel all warm and fuzzy when they've lost their takes.

Solution: Haven't found one.

What about freezing the tracks you aren't punching in on Ermz? Surely won't take long with a good processor.

I find Cubase is way more stable than it's bad rep on the internet would suggest. A lot of the times that I've had issues in the past, they weren't necessarily related to Cubase itself but more the plug-ins and workflow. I don't think I have ever had a directly related Cubase issue... almost every time it's an odd plug-in, or tracking with too much CPU usage, failing hard drive, etc. you get the point. Vari-audio in C5 will definitely do some damage though, I haven't used it in C6.

PT HD maybe?:D

More seriously, many HD user increase DAE playback buffer size when working with large session on G5. Your system overall reponse is more slow but you can always record, punch... no matter what happen.
I don't remember how it was labeled in cubase, but would probably worth the search.
