So just wondering...Who are you Top 6 Vox of any band you like or dont like ??
Heres mine!!

Number one is hard for me...so i will cheat a bit!

1: Rob Halford - The Metal God...The master of the metal scream!!!
Biff Byford - Smooth dynamism, pure emotion and true metal character!
Chuck Billy - Ultimate power, Total Devastation and perfect technique!!

2: Bon Scott - He doesnt sing, he talks with you (Only if you know how to listen!)

3: Tom Araya - The master of Hate! The bringer of Pain!!!!!!

4: Ihsahn - Darker than Blackness itself, the creator of the black metal vocal style, an instrument of evil!

5: Bruce Dickinson - Perhaps overrated in some circles but a great voice none the less!

6: Kurt cobain - 100% really real feelings and emotion, im not a fan of the music much but his voice is captivating, Many have tried to imitate..But the true pain cannot be emulated

Yeah i really like Dio's voice also!

Did'nt Ralph Sheepers used to sing for gamma ray btw? he has a cool Halfordesque voice!

YES! He left Gamma Ray in 1993, and believe it or not, he auditioned for the job of vocalist with Judas Priest!
I don't know why, but after he left Gamma Ray, there albums just got better and better, faster and heavyer!
And Yes, Gamma Ray are big Priest fans, and some of there more recent songs sound rather Priest'ish. . .

Here's my six in no particular order
Ronnie James Dio
Bruce Dickinson
Rob Halford
Biff
Ian Gillan
Robert Plant

My favourite vocalists would be:-

GEDDY LEE
ROBERT PLANT
SEAN HARRIS (Diamond Head)
KEVIN HEYBOURNE (Angel Witch)
BON SCOTT
MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN (Tool/APC)
MARC STORACE (Krokus)
JACK RUSSELL (Great White)

Oops think that's more than 6!!!

Nice subject! This got me thinking and it is comforting to know that I'm not alone out there!
In no particular order:

Biff Byford (of course!)
Rob Halford
Geddy Lee
Ozzy
Peter Gabriel
Freddie Mercury
PJ Harvey
Roger Waters
Bonn Scott
Ray Davies
Kate Bush
Fish
Lemmy
Torie Amos
Brian Johnson

A few too many, I know - but these are the vocalists that mean alot to me!

Hey guys what can i say....It warms my heart to see Bon Scotts name mentioned by you ppl !

The guy is legend !!! I often describe him as the best mate i never had!

Biff
Coverdale
Spike (The Quireboys)
Rod Stewart
Tom Jones
Stefan Berggren (Snakes in paradise, Company of snakes)
Joey Tempest
Ronan Keating
Dave Meniketti (Y&T)
Brian Vollmer (Helix)
Jack Russell (Great White)

More than 6, but think I got them all.

I completely forgot to mention any female vocalists, that's terrible eh!!! Right ok, just 2 I think:-

Kate Bush (her voice is incredible)

Stevie Nicks

That's about all I can think of at the moment.

Patte - Ummm... a pretty mixed bag there!
Respect is due to all mentioned, but.... Ronan Keating....?

Well, what can i say? I like his voice and his style. I knew he, or Rod Stewart or Joey Tempest, was gonna get a reaction though...

I agree with you Patte on Stefan Berggren, he's got an amazing voice, sounds pretty much like Cov. I got Company of Snakes Burst the Bubble a few months ago and it's really good CD. On first listen I just thought it was ok but after about 3/4 blasts, it really grows on you and it's great now. His voice is fab!!

No probs, Patte - The man himself seems like a nice enough fellow (judging by interviews). I was just taken aback that he has a Metal Supporter!
By the way, Rod Stewart is fine by me!

Yeah, I really like that album. Very Whitesnake influenced of course.
He does sound much like Coverdale indeed. Powerful voice and I like his technique.

Guess I'm more of a rocknroller than metalhead actually, even though Saxon are the greatest for me. My two other bands top 3 would be Molly Hatchet and The Quireboys so...

#1 Rob Halford! the most recognizable and versatile voice I've heard!
no order:
Bruce Dickinson
Ozzy
Daniel Heiman (lost horizon, now crystal eyes)
Biff Byford
James Hetfield
Dave Mustaine
