Your least favorite Opeth album?

I'll have to go with Orchid. The album doesn't seem to be too planned out. Still good but it's like they just added random riffs together to make songs, not writing riffs for the songs, so to speak.

I would have to say the two albums that are never boring and never grow old are MAYH and Blackwater Park. The two best opeth records IMHO.

Morningrise followed closely by Deliverance. Morningrise fanboys, bring forth a shower of disjointed flames.

Exactly what I think of Orchid and Morningrise. Great albums musically, but the way they are structured I don't like. I mean, the songs are more just a whole bunch of riffs thrown in into 10 or 15 minute songs, no riffs are repeated. Thats what I like about the albums after, they repeat riffs in songs and you can always go back to them and enjoy them more, they make the epics.

My least fave though would have to be Deliverance, just lacks the clean/acoustic qualities that the other albums have, guess that is made up for in Damnation. But from fave to least fave, it would go like this.

Still Life
Ghost Reveries
Morningrise
Blackwater Park
Orchid
Damnation
My Arms, Your Hearse
Deliverance

Ikil

Still Life. Boring verse chorus structures appear first here, poor production. Two songs are near clones structurally (SPD, MV). Opeth's least interesting soft song in Benighted. No audible bass. White Cluster is just as random of a song as anything on Orchid. It definitely appears sloppily thrown in at the end. Poor acoustic outro in comparison to other songs.
