This has probably been done many times before but just post your absolute number 1 favorite Opeth song! Don't post a list of 3 songs, just the absolute favorite!

Me: Moonlapse Vertigo!

Nice: five people, five different opinions... Anybody remebering which one was the winner from those polls not so long ago? And bangadrian, what's your favourite Opeth song, or do we have to wait?? ;-)

I can't understand why you guys appreciate The Moor that much... it's a great song, but Opeth have made much better masterpieces. From the same album, I'll mention Moonlapse Vertigo, Face of Melinda, Serenity Painted Death, and even Godhead's Lament.

It's just a matter of taste, but it made me really curious.

Obivously, Opeth have really good songs and it's impossible to pick only one as THE best one; the same like I said "The Moor" I could have named any other which has been mentioned in this thread so far. All I can tell you is The Moor gets me in an insane mood whenever I listen to it, which doesn't happen with every Opeth song, you know? + it's got some of the nicest Opeth acoustic part... :rock:

The Moor has a really memorable intro which moves on to an absolutely crushing buildup and.......... roarrrrrrr; so yeah; first Opeth song I've ever heard, and in my opinion their best on Still Life though White Cluster(which you'd incidentally not considered) gives it stiff competition.

I'd rank the songs in that album as(at this instant);
1. The Moor
2. White Cluster
3. Godhead's Lament
4. Serenity Painted Death
5. Face if Melinda
6. Moonlapse Vertigo
7. Benighted
