the death of Chuck... signalled a sad day for us all
Amorphis picking up Pasi and turning slowly to crap
In Flames switching singers... bad move. Lunar Strain remains a godly album.

ummm lemme see.

The night moonspell brought out their big stick.... and slammed it on the stage. I got a good laugh at that.
ummmm the Death of chuck.... the day I'll always remember.
The day I almost died while listening to children of bodom.
The day where I got to meet everyone from the haunted backstage at a concert.
and finally my very first Opeth concert (simply because It was my very first metal concert)
those are my most memorable metal moments.

yeah that moonspell stick thing has me and my buddies rolling whenever we bring it up. good band, though. still, i felt bad for them as at the show i was at, everyone just looked at each other and went, WHAT? and then quietly laughed.

Getting stomped on by nazis at the Slayer concert (Seasons of the Abyss tour, my first concert) I don't like Nazis, but it was an exhilirating experience.
Getting laid right after seeing Type O Negative put on a most excellent show.
Seeing Emperor live. PERIOD.
Getting hugged by Warrel Dane because I was wearing a Death t-shirt and this was less than a week after Chuck announced he had cancer.
Hearing Bruce Dickinson rip someone a new asshole because he threw a beer bottle at him.
Seeing Iron Maiden with Bruce Dickinson live.
hearing Rob Halford tear everyone's face off by ripping into "Resurrection" with the most badass metal scream ever.
Nick Barker buying me a beer before he went on with Dimmu.
Nearly having my face burnt by Horgh at Immortal when he did the Dragonbreath.
Eric Adams (of Manowar) NOT trying to sleep with my girlfriend because she reminded him of his sister.

dude, fuck you... I'd kill to see Emperor live, but nooooooooo, they just HAD to break up right as i got old enough to start going to a real good amount of concerts. I envy you a lot for that one.

I regret that I'll never see live: Emperor, Megadeth, Dissection, Death, Snot, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, or pre-Ripper Iced Earth.

Seeing Emperor live was probably the single greatest metal moment I've personally experienced. For one thing, when I saw them, they were spot on. Perfect sound, amazing performance, great audience. Though I suppose they had to break up when they did, wish I could have seen them again, and a lot of people who discovered them later could have had the chance. They were, and are, a band for the ages.
