What are your feelings regarding this movement and it's movies? And this is not for Dakryn since he sure loves this series I'm sure.It's hated from the right wing to the left wing but love by both groups at the same time. The movies do too much of conspiracy junk like 9/11 to consider to be fan of the movies or movement.

I've only watched Zeitgeist: Addendum, which had some interesting and true information in it, but the whole thing about the Venus Project towards the end I remember being fucking retarded. I haven't watched the first Zeitgeist movie but I'm pretty sure it's even more retarded. My ex wrote a funny review about it criticizing some point it made about the homophones 'sun' and 'son' and how this was supposed to make some significant point about the concept of the son of God. Damn...I wish I could find it. Anyway, based on what I've heard, it sounds fucking retarded. Why do people take this shit seriously?

Do you mean that they point to some secret, mystical fact that proves the son of God existed? Or that they've served symbolic significance in the past? Because as homophones, they're ripe for appropriation through condensation; but that doesn't point to any inherent historical narrative, only to the symbolic weight that those terms hold.

Personally, I think these films are a pure pop culture phenomenon. They appropriate facts that are allegedly obscure and esoteric and attempt to use them as evidence for some grand historical narrative, while simultaneously ignoring the fact that much of what they claim is already well-known in academic circles and is put to much more intellectual use by them.

the Zeitgeist movies are okay. i feel as though the movies have little to do with the 'movement'. there are much, much more extensive and accurate movies about that sort of thing that go further than 9/11 and trying to debunk religions. people have been doing that since the beginning of both of those.

i personally find this guy (even though he's a bit loony) way better than any zeitgeist movies.

I remember Nemtheanga from Primordial posted Zeitgeist or a clip of it on facebook, and all of the fans basically said, "Wtf?!" It was funny

To start off the history of the Venus Project, Jacque Fresco was the creater of what should be the future. Freedom still is alive in the Venus Project. Humans will bulid peace among it's neighbors and robots will now handle the complex of working in future that will make the Earth more signficant in the long road. I'm not the one who is the power hungry. Koch Brothers, Walmart, AIG, Alan Greenspan(the one who got us into this whole recession), Rockefellers, bankers, churches, and whole bunch of people that are making this country go to hell. Watch movies such as "This Corporation and Inside Job, you'll find the real reason the people behind the business don't want to tell you the truth. Same with our leaders such as George W Bush who lied to the American people hundred times, oh let's make that millions of times. You as a Conspiracy Theoryist should know the dangers of these people I'm name dropping. As well as other world dangers that are controlling your corrupt government and your corrupt life. And stay away from the bullshit that is religion. We have heard all our life that god is real but how could they prove it? No one knows if this guy is actually real man or as real as cartoons.

The funny thing behind it all is the "capitalist" system is what gets blamed, but it's really more of a fascist/oligarchical types of government/business deals that give the banks these profits. Were things truly free market these boom/bust cycles (which are triggered by government legislation and profited upon by the multinational banks who know ahead of time it's going to occur) simply wouldn't exist. Both political parties are to blame, but heading down the reactionary anti-free market route of socialism is placing even more power in the hands of the very people who created this oligarchy. Given the information the general public is given it does seem incredibly counter intuitive to move more towards free market limited government intervention, but unfortunately that is the common sentiment.
