Feedback welcome - In Flames "Moonshield" Cover

Hi guys, I've been browsing these forums for a few years now and I'm very grateful for all the tips and knowledge I've gained from it... but never posted anything I've recorded - I may as well start. I feel like my mixes have been getting a lot better lately, at least to the point where I...

    king of hiphop drums vst?

There's always the Electronic EZX. It has a bunch of 808/909 style stuff and more. Sounds pretty cool to me for the limited amount of stuff I've done with it. Not really into hiphop, mind you.

    Your latest G.A.S. purchases

Got a bunch of shit lately.. Haven't been able to get any music gear for a little while now so it's nice to have been able to get a few things I'd had my eyes on. Satson is next, I'd like to compare to Stripbus...

A probably dumb question about paralell compression in reaper

You haven't provided a lot of info, but I'll try - you said you duplicated the snare via a send, but where are you sending the snare to? Another track with a compressor? If you have the compressor on the original track instead of the aux track, then yeah, it's going to compress both. More info...

Ah, no worries then. Thanks for the quick response Shane. Funny it worked for me before on version 3.1.1.

Recabinet 3.5 Released (third party IR import, stereo panning)

Shane, The update is awesome. Although I mostly use the Recabinet IR's themselves it's nice to have the option of 3rd party ones! Really glad I snagged this a few weeks ago for the sale price. Just an observation with the 3.5 update - not sure if it's something weird going on with my system...

    Your latest G.A.S. purchases

Peavey Triple X cab. Not the greatest cab, but sounds pretty good actually. Not a bad deal for $150. Really well built, kinda surprised. Might swap the speakers down the road, but they are supposed to be Peavey's take on a V30 apparently, only 100 watts. Sounding good so far. I already have a...

Just visited the sevenstring.org forum for the first time...

I lurk there quite often but also have very little to add. I post every once in a while to help noobs with technical questions that no one else has answered. I agree with most of the above... there are a few good guys on there, though. I'll buy/sell stuff sometimes on the marketplace forums...

5150: one of my power amp tubes not glowing

Some people choose to run their 100/120 Watt heads with only ONE set of output tubes to effectively halve the output power. This also halves the output impedance. So if you were running your 100W head @ 16 ohms, taking one set of the power tubes out would mean you're running 50W @ 8 ohms. Be...

5150: one of my power amp tubes not glowing

All tubes should glow. The glow is the heater element heating up the cathode. Without the cathode hot, the tube is doing absolutely nothing. Time to replace it.

    Shitty string saddle responsible?

Couldn't you just bring it to a tech and get the saddles filed down? A new bridge won't really solve your problem; it'll have the saddles without slots in them as well. They assume that you'll get them cut to the right size depending on the gauge string you use.

Synths on the left, guitars on the right!

Holy shit, this sounds AWESOME. I love it. Even the L/R balance, sounds fresh. Seemed pretty balanced to me overall. EDIT: what did you use for the piano? Sounds nice.

    T-Racks 3 sale this month ($200/$100 crossgrade)

I bought the Black 76 in order to get the crossgrade price of $99; so I just picked up the White 2A for the freebie. So, I've got everything now... very impressed, especially for the price. Great bang for the buck!
