DragonForce - Are these guys for real?

Oops, you're entirely correct. I was mixing them up with Shadowkeep. To be fair though, both bands are particularly bland Power Metal, something the world seems to have plenty enough of already.

DragonForce - Are these guys for real?

I've seen them live twice. First time was mildy interesting (supporting Halford in 2000) unfortunately they're new singer was awful when supporteing Symphony X last year. I don't really like power metal these days anyway, but I can appreciate it when it's done well and with originality. This...

    Issue 71 - February 19, 2004

Well, I really must be picking up the Pain of Salvation. However, Mithras: possibly the most incompetent live band I've ever seen. Saw them supporting Bal-Sagoth and return to the Sabbat last march, and boy were they shite. Terrorizor loved them for some unfathomable reason, but the...

V - The new Mythology Suite

My first, and favourite Symphony X album. I love its melodies and general cohesiveness, plus a level of emotion and beauty I find lacking in The Oddysey. But then, I'm a sucker for concept albums. This is the album I'll play 9 times out of 10 if I want to listen to this band.

    ARC - Burn The Sun

I love the album. Absolute Zero is the pinnacle for me, the twisted melodies really nail it. Hopefully they'll manage to get someone as good to replace Jorn.

    "Space Dye Vest"

    I second that.

    Cubase SX anybody?

Probably the fact that it's a pirate. My legit version runs fine on a lower spec machine. The manual may be able to offer more insigt than me though.

    "Space Dye Vest"

A lot of Chroma Key is pretty upbeat. Sure the lyrical themes are often negative, but never indulgently so, and the melodies are beautiful enough to enjoy the work with or without the lyrics.

Dance Of Death: Best album of 2003

I've been on a visit to the Maiden board.

I'm surprised so few people recognised ya. Shows how much the n00bs have taken over really.

    Suggested Bands For Bloodstock 2004

Well maybe my eyes are getting bad, but I swear I've only seen one person say THRESHOLD. They have got to be a must have. And I would love to see any of the following (although not at the expense of the excellent THRESHOLD): Kamelot Symphony X Vanden Plas Enchant Savatage and it would be...

Ok, so what are your favorite albums of 2003 so far?

Hmm, only bought 4 2003 albums so far, and one of those was a live. So can't really comment. Got OSI and Train of Thought this week so not listened to them enough to judge properly. If I don't find anything better than DoD, though, this will have been a crap year for music. LIve on Earth was...
