    metal bassists

Patterson wrote like 90% of the bass lines on UP. Choy just listened to the pre-prod tape and tried to do the best he could to imitate it while still adding his touch. I think the little thing Choy added make a pretty big difference but Patterson did a great job overall, he often came with the...

Necrophagist and Arsis to tour US...together.

In Quebec City and Montreal, the line-up is as follows : Necrophagist, Arsis, Alarum, Ion Dissonance, Disfear, Misery Index, Mesrine, Strong Intentions. I guess the Arsis, Necrophagist, Alarum and Ion Dissonance dates are only in Canada since the official press release says "Canadian Dates" but...

The Craziest Fucking band You know of

I'm not a huge fan of that myself but the new song doesn't have the opera thing going on. Pretty much worth checking it.

The Craziest Fucking band You know of

They also have a new song out : http://myspace.com/augury I don't think they'll have opera-like vocals anymore though, since the girl who did them is no longer in the band. Their song is still mad good though.

    Gore and technical death metal.

Necrophagist is a must since it's both uber technical and gory.

Negativa - New Quebec All-Star Extreme Metal Band

They were supposed to tour a bit during spring. Necrophagist also comes to Quebec in June, so if someone's brillant (and I know the Galy Records guy who brings Necrophagist here is), they might book Negativa on the Necrophagist tour. I'd also like to see Augury with them

    Black Metal Radio

It is. Does anyone know of any band similar to them, especially if it's similar to their slow paced parts.

How many death metal bands are better than gorguts?

The riff in Inverted is essentially inspired of the dissonance of Obscura. The difference between Obscura and FWTH is essentially, to me, dissonance. Obscura is all about dissonance and chaos (that's why it sometimes look less focused) and FWTH is more theory oriented I guess, since both Dan...
