    Previous Saxon Tourdates

I recall seeing Saxon on the Crusader tour at Birmingham Odeon, and they had a band called "Battle-Axe" supporting them. Afterwards, the bell went in the bar and the auditorium filled up, the lights dimmed, curtain up and...................<paaaarp> there stood a second support band called...

    Time to forgive...

"Budweiser - The Beer of Kings" - Slogan from Czech brewery. "Budweiser - The King of Beers" - Slogan from A/Busch. Hmmm, probably a coincidence! One is a real pilsner, brewed in the time-honoured way, the other is made with rice. RICE???!!! WTF is all that about????!!!!:yuk: Ooh, and did...

    US TOUR CANCELLED AGAIN

You miss the point, it is not the fact that he didn't pay the fines, it will be the fact he has a criminal record. Anyone trying to enter the US who has ANY criminal conviction flags up as an "undesirable", as does anyone HIV+, or registered drug addicts (I believe they have only just relaxed...

    From the start...................

That is the funniest thing I have heard for a long while. I wonder if he is in his shed spraying his latest vinyl LPs gold to hang on his wall, and waiting for the phone to ring about the reunion tour? PMSL, bless him! Oh yeah, "Saxon" - "Stallions..." and "Backs to the Wall", fantastic!!!!

Very unlike Biff. b. Very erm, well, um, y'know........"light on his feet". Thank God he has aged well!!! (Unlike...

A thread in honour of Rats!

Back when I was 19 I bought a female black and white hooded rat, for what reason I have absolutely no idea. Because zero thought had gone into this, and because my mother would have had a screaming shit-fit, I had neglected to buy a cage, so for the first couple of nights she slept in a box, and...

    biffs vocal eqip

Alas no! He is actually a well-respected and talented sound engineer. We were just talking shop during a show, discussing what juicy jobs we had done/were doing. When he mentioned he had worked with the mighty Saxon he suddenly became my hero, LOL. To be fair, he didn't actually say that the...

    biffs vocal eqip

Dunno about the kit Biff uses, but I did talk to a chap some years ago who, I think, was Saxon's monitor engineer. He told me that there been problems eliminating an annoying whistle during gigs, something to do with the vocals. Eventually, after much investigation, it was discovered that the...

Real reason for UK tour postponment

....and pissing off some of their old ones who were expecting to see them again shortly, and who may read something into Motorheid's final comment.

    TERRIBLE NEWS!

"Did you listen to the radio, every Friday night?" - Denim & Leather Of course we did. My favourite Tommy story is of the Radio 1 team trying to get the Donington crowd to chant "Rock with Tommy Vance", only the only thing they ended up recording was 60 000 people chanting "Tommy is a...

    Album opinions, from the start...Crusader

Crusader, without a doubt is my favourite Saxon track. The solo never fails to send a shiver down my spine, the whole thing just puts a great big grin on my face. All in all, this track IS a classic. The album however, isn't particularly outstanding. It's OK, but not quite as good as TP&TG...
