Watershed: Are you disapointed with it?

I haven't read most of this thread... most of what I did read pissed me off too much. (Why isn't it like Morninrise/MAYH?!?!?...) This is by far my favourite Opeth work at this moment. It contains absolutely everything I wanted to hear from the band. I wasn't a big fan of GR, but I like Opeth...

    Favourite distortion

Also SW (as far as I know) had no input on the distorted tone of Deliverance... most of it had already been recorded when SW turned up to help.

    Favourite distortion

The overall sound of Watershed is definitely my favourite Opeth sound. BWP is second; though I would prefer it if it weren't so overcompressed, and didn't clip extensively.

sorry for shit thread but it has to be done

Hessian Peel. Not close for me. Ghost of Perdition is brilliant, but a lot more typical of Opeth. Hessian Peel is definitely new territory.

    The DTS 5.0 mix

There are a few albums that I've always wanted to hear in surround sound, and I think that in certain cases it can actually add to the effect of the music. Funnily enough two of these have actually been released in 5.1 (DSOTM and War of the Worlds..) but both are in SACD format, which I don't...

    The DTS 5.0 mix

It was just OK for me. I'd rather listen to the standard stereo mix. There were a lot of times when I felt the seperation (esp vox) was too extreme.. and I noticed some weird things coming from that channel as well. Not sure if it was just the average 5.1 setup I listened to it on, but it also...

    Another black disc?

I've never felt the need to have 700 albums instantly accessible wherever I am. I mean, sure, in the past I've had an MP3 player, and they're useful... but given the choice I'd much rather use a CD. I keep a 35 cd wallet in my car, and change around the CD's whenever the need arises.

    Favorite song on each album

I don't much like Steven Wilsons compositional skills but I love his production work on BWP, and to a slightly lesser extent, Damnation. Too bad both are mastered awfully..

    Another black disc?

Fuck no. A tangible product is 100% better IMO.

    What the fuck??

Musical term for the "telephone voice"?

There's already a convolution plugin (Speakerphone- Altiverb) that contains a whole bunch of impulse responses for various applications. There's some pretty cool stuff in there.

    Just Got WATERSHED Deluxe Package

That wouldn't have worked at all.. and why should she risk her job so some person she doesn't know could have a CD they want a couple of days early? It's pretty risky selling before the embargo date.

    Stevie Wonder and Opeth

    Stevie Wonder = incredible.

    Fav. Watershed Song

Watershed, as it stands right now, is my favourite Opeth album. It contains absolutely everything that I enjoy about their music/songwriting, and the production is far more fitting than the GR style. There are no songs that I dislike. Burden, Heir Apparent, and especially Hessian Peel are my...
