Alice in Chains- A Looking in View

Wow. Whoda thunk that we agree on so many things considering how this all started. :)

Alice in Chains- A Looking in View

No, it's called taste, and more specifically, MY taste. I actually don't really care for Savatage in general. Knowing that, this shouldn't be that surprising. But yes, I feel Layne 10 x's more than those other singers mentioned. Dio is the closest in that department. The only thing Jon has...

Alice in Chains- A Looking in View

I would have to agree with you there. Those singers truly haven't done much for me either. I find Layne's angst, misery and passion undeniable, whereas, the others mentioned just merely exist in their respective bands with a recognizable voice.

Alice in Chains- A Looking in View

I *shudder* to think what any of those vocalists would sound like with AiC. Apples and oranges, my man.

Alice in Chains- A Looking in View

Well, I do like Eminem. Does that count as street? :goggly: As I have mentioned, I definitely hear Dirt...and overwhelmingly so. Something I never thought they would ever sound like again. It's one of my most favorite albums ever, so if they manage to re-capture even a little of that sound, I...

Alice in Chains- A Looking in View

"scurred" = scared. Just trying to lighten it up and not come across so pointed, is all. But I'm glad to know you at least gave it a shot. That's all I was trying to get at. I disagree with your assessment, but such is life. I guess I hear this as more of a Dirt era AiC, which can't be bad...

"whatevs". You are just scurred that a band you once thought created good music might actually produce something you might like again. Don't be scurred, man. Just click the little triangle. You might even like it! :)

Alice in Chains- A Looking in View

I can certainly understand why it's hard to take a 'new' Alice in Chains vocalist. Layne is one of my favorite vocalists. Dirt is easily one of the best rock albums. I love Staley's voice. But, imo, Jerry did this the right way. He has toured with Duvall, introducing fans to a singer who he...

DMB- Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King

I absolutely love Big Whiskey... It sees them really going in directions they haven't really gone before, or in a long while. Stand Up did nothing for me. Busted Stuff is a classic, imo. Everyday had like 3 good songs, the rest filler. What producer in their right mind has a drummer like Carter...

    TESTAMENT

Testament is one of my favorites... I think it's worth mentioning that their more recent output is a bit different than in their beginning. If you are looking for more along the lines of Formation of Damnation, then go with Low and the Gathering. Those 2 should satisfy that craving. Also, First...

    Volbeat Cancel, Promoter devastated....

That sucks Glenn! So sorry to hear that. I remember talking to Michael about getting on last years bill...and was psyched to see you book them this year. BUT, you have pulled out more from less. Remember the first couple years? :) I'd say just go for unique. Devin would rule again, but that's...

    TOOL

Yeah, I have seen them a few times. Always an awesome show. The first time Chris Roy and I saw them from the side of the stage at OZZfest 97, believe. Maynard was painted half blue and half white...wearing a loin cloth. They had some big spaceship on stage with them as well...killer show...
