    HYPOCRISY IN AUSTRALIA!!

there are promoters out there trying to an idea of ticket sales so they can book suitable venues. Is 300-400 per gig too optimistic for a major capital city?

    HYPOCRISY IN AUSTRALIA!!

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but what sort of numbers would rock up to a Sydney show if they were to tour here?

    Nuclear Blast Recommendations

Ok, so I'm purchasing the Iconoclast disc through the NB website and thought I'd add some stablemates to the order. Are there any albums from other (lesser known) bands in the same genre that are worth checking out? I heard a couple of sound grabs from Scar Symmetry and I'm liking what I hear.

Music you used to listen to and now you cringe that you used to listen to it?

Impelliterri. On the flipside, I'm sure most others here including myself listen to music these days they would have cringed at in the past *cough* country *cough*.

    Damnation game -revisit

I don't dislike the album any more than say TiO or tO. The title track, The Edge of Forever, Whispers, Secrets and Both Winter's Dreams are on the iPod (I'll have to remind myself to put Dressed to Kill on there too). The Edge of Forever bores me a bit more than the rest especially with...

    Yngview Malmsteen

I wouldn't know where to start but I can say Yngwie apart from his unquestionable natural gift, shares some of the quirks and misfit qualities that seem to be a common thread with these other 'special' artists.

    Yngview Malmsteen

I'd probably (only just) rate him as one of the few musical geniuses among the likes of Freddie Mercury, David Gilmour, Prince and Donald Fagen. Big call but I'll stand by it.

    2009 Asia tour

CoF and Satyricon are playing late May and March respectively, not late February. It's just the promoters wanting to give themselves maximum opportunity. Plus CoF and Satyricon have the advantage of having toured successfully here before. The only lame excuse going around is it might clash with...

    2009 Asia tour

There's no doubt in the band's mind they'll be a success here. Their agent in the UK is super keen to get Australian shows on the back of this tour. From a local promoters point of view, it might just be too late for a marketing campaign to get any traction coming out of the holiday season. The...

Bands you've tried, but just can't dig

Who knows, maybe in the future. I Don't hate the bands listed. Found myself getting into stuff I wasn't much into in the past getting plenty of play in the present if that makes sense.

    Paul Gilbert is hilarious!

hilarious! don't think JP appreciated his set being crashed. I'm sure he contemplated flicking his toggle switch to 'Kill Zone Mode'. Good restraint shown there.
