Yes. And if you get lucky and it doesn't effect it you got really really lucky. It may not cause it not to work... but it could effect the sound it produces... especially if its a tube amp. I wouldn't suggest it but I understand not wanting to lug it around.

I know I am probably going to get laughed at but... the line 6 uber metal pedal... so sweet. If you want raw distortion this is for you... plus the noise gate allows for it to sound really raw and punchy. Such an amazing distortion pedal.

basically any guitar cleaner you find will work fine. id suggest the dunlop stuff... its readily available and decent. plus you wont spend a small fortune for it.

Ok so this is a little trick I think I learned either here or on guitar my life. This will allow you to get the action you want from your guitar... (the distance between your strings and frets) I have a jackson kelly and a Ibanez both with floating bridge Floyd rose's and this helped me out big...

Personally I enjoy both esp and jackson. I don't own an esp but I do own a jackson. My main guitars are my 85 kramer vanguard which is refitted with emg 81-85 and my ibanez skull series. I love em.... But id say go jackson or try this. this is a rediculous budget buy but god I fell in love with...

Listen go to your local music store and pick up All Shall Perish- The price Of Existence. Learn some shit from that... and practice.. they use allot of methods described here. Plus they also play some bluesy stuff. Another good piece of advice is to be well rounded. This will add your own touch...
