    Greg Christian out of Testament

They don't say anything about why. I thought I had heard that he fell off the wagon a while back but saw someone say on the FB thread that he did it for family reasons. Would rather that than him going back to bad habits.

Sorry, I've really been checking in sporadically and figured I'd check in today since it was announced that Greg left. The only good news in that was they are (apparently) working on new material.

Dark Roots of Thrash live album

I'm going for the CD only. I gave up on live DVD/blu ray when Nevermore put out "Year of the Voyager" and Maiden's "Rock in Rio" because of the hyper editing on them.

The what's going on in Thrash thread

When I got the email from Pledge about this I groaned. I have both Twisted Sister's "Still Hungry" and Testament's "First Strike" and I never listen to them. No matter how bad the production may be, I'll still go back to the original. I'd rather they try to write a proper follow up to "The...

Bostaph joins Slayer, no one tells Lombardo.

Nothing would make me happier than a sequel for The Gathering. It took me a while to get into DROE but, after deleting "Native Blood" off my iPod, it's now a better album.

    So; here's "Anthem"!

God, if I never hear that song again, it'll be a blessing. I'd rather they pull out their cover of "Eighteen" or "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" instead of ever playing it again.

I don't think Metallica got any cred back at all. If anything, it highlighted that they are still so far off the path from where they used to be. Even the CD/DVD of the big four, their performance was by far the weakest. I thought Megadeth sounded the best, Anthrax second, then Slayer and...

Overkill is re-releasing "The Electric Age" as a deluxe version for the tour with Testament. I haven't seen any details as to what's on it, just that CDuniverse.com has it listed on their website: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=8890591&style=music

Metallica has toured with Machine Head, who are from the Bay Area so it could happen. I don't think Metallica have given enough support to the other Bay Area bands. The current bill of Testament/Overkill and Flotsam is great. I just wish they weren't playing in my area on Valentine's Day...

I don't know about "splatter" effect discs, but picture discs sound like shit. Seriously, what you will be getting back is suitable for hanging on a wall (maybe one day to get autographed) and that's about it. J&R has the blue vinyl version for under $20...

No, the "tour edition" of Formation Of Damnation that had the bonus disc with the three live tracks and live footage from the MTV 52/52 documentary that they did 2-3 years ago. I've got the Japanese pressing (no bonus stuff) and wanted the live tracks off of this edition but it's not worth $10...

I read, on the Anthrax board, that they are supposed to release the covers ep as a NB exclusive. If they do that then they damn well better be sure that it's available on the US website and not just the German website because I'm not paying 20 euros to have one ep shipped here. If that's the...

When all the Queensryche stuff was going down a few weeks ago, that was the place you had to go to. But they do have a reputation for putting the most sensational headline up that they can. I understand, it's to get people to click on the link and be able to show potential advertisers that...

    New Anthrax EP in September??!???

Great, then with the €20 they charge for shipping to the US, it'll REALLY be a bargain. Hopefully it will be available on the US site for less than the cost of a plane ticket, taxi, meal and hotel room to Germany to ship it.

Ahh, I remember the days of having full blown posters of album art being available for sale. My friend had the Practice cover as a poster, I had Iron Maiden's 7th son and everyone back then had the Master of Puppets poster but that was back in the 80's when metal pretty much ruled the world and...
