is he right? i think that anyone can piece together random riffs that dont form cohesive sections of a song... its just like superglueing pages of different books together, glueing on a cover and then handing it out to people to read... its a lot easier than writing each page and having it carry...

I agree about the bass being more prominent on the earlier albums.. ive never even heard the bass on MAYH.. (i think mikael actually did the bass on that album though), and very rarely ever since until damnation. the older basslines were extremely.. warm. the bassiest song that i can think...

the am i like them verse has always mystified me.. i've always thought "those who mourn and turn away" meant something like they show up to the funeral and that is the end of their grief, they turn away. and i felt like it meant MORE to mikael instead of less like you say.. regardless...

people usually slam deliverance because its repetitive.. i mean yeah it is, the end of deliverance and parts of wreath (which is my fav song off there), and other parts of songs.. but then they turn around and praise black rose immortal, which has its fair share of repeating in it too.. that...

Hey, does anyone have a tab for the second solo in the song deliverance? I really really like that solo, but I'm not good enough to learn it by ear.... if someone could tab it for me or point me toward a tab of it I would love it :) Thanks

im not asking about the riff in the song, im asking about the little jam he does before he plays the riff..

Everyone has seen the drapery falls lesson video. When mikael is describing the first evil riff, he talks about "old man's rock" and then plays a few chords. Does anyone have a clue what he plays then??? I think they sound very awesome and would love to be able to play something like that.
