Hi guys, and thanks for the replies. I used a Schecter C-7 Blackjack and an Ibanez RGT42, and played through a (... wait for it ...) Behringer GMX212 amp using the headphones out :loco:

I use a program called Doggiebox. It's only for Mac, though ... You can download full drum sets, recorded by other users, from the homepage and they sound great. It's the best drum program I've been able to find so far.

My first recording, and since I decided on The River Dragon Has Come, I thought you guys might want to hear it. Solo's a bit beyond my abilities, but everything else turned pretty ok. If anyone's able to sing it, don't hesitate to contact me! Check it out...

Regarding the "generic guitar chugger"-thing, I think Metropolis II meant Romeo's riff-style. SX's heavier riffs are largely based on harmonic minor with the root on the fourth step (sorry, can't really explain this properly in English); OSaS, Evolution, The Relic, Dragon's Den ... the list goes...

Well, Black Sabbath has just been confirmed for Roskilde Festival so I'll probably go, and if Nevermore's tour hits Denmark (or Sweden or northern Germany) I'll go too. And that's probably what I can manage with my current economy - even though I'd really like to see Priest and Megadeth ...

You can get a Hughes & Kettner Warp 7 2x12" combo for around 300£. It's solidstate but sounds kick ass and is most certainly metal!
