    Did Behemoth gang-rape a fan in 2001?

I think up to 50% of reported rapes are fake. However even if half of those rapes are fake, the other half aren't. One of the biggest problems is that when two drunk people wander off and screw like bunnies, who's to say what was consensual and what wasn't? It's his drunk word against her drunk...

    Controversial opinions on metal

Any "quality > sociability" thinking that isn't Pitchfork-style hipsterism is automatically assumed to originate with the ANUS. It seems widely feared, which is odd since it's just a furry little hole that loves sodomy.

    Controversial opinions on metal

I agree. Mayhem fit the archetype of a certain kind of metal band that is able to organize a vast number of talented people who pass through its sphere, gradually refining and improving what originally was mediocre. Such bands generally have only one great album in them.

    Controversial opinions on metal

I agree with the first, not the second. ITNE is up there with Mayhem. Not quite the heights of Immortal and Burzum, but very close.

    Did Behemoth gang-rape a fan in 2001?

It's still allegations, but... how disturbing. Not that I'm a huge fan of anything past ...From the Pagan Vastlands, but still yucky and makes me want to blot them out of my mind, if it's true.

Immortal, Darkthrone, Burzum, Enslaved, Bathory and Emperor are on par with it.

    Controversial opinions on metal

This is my experience. Emo/indie/metalcore/shoegaze hybrids in metal tend to convince metal listeners they're "open-minded" and thus they drift off to something else, forever looking for that next radical musical choice to show they're different. People who actually like metal tend to avoid...

They usually seek it in a gang or ideology, which is a family surrogate.

    Controversial opinions on metal

That's a great observation. It seems to me there's a huge market for metal that's not metal, so the bored children of the middle classes can continue to be "rebels in their own minds" but still not venture beyond the normal mundane music they actually like.

    Cancer as a Parasite

I suppose. I've been reading a lot of Burroughs and Houellebecq lately, so it's not entirely random in that context. :)

    Cancer as a Parasite

...Like a political revolution. It's speciation: a new arising within the old. However, it also kills off the host.

    AOTY 2013?

    Imprecation. What a great return.

    Controversial opinions on metal

I have been attributing to them the origin of bro-core. Like Biohazard and other post-Agnostic Front tuffguy NYHC bands, Pantera picked up the angry posturing and repetitive rhythmic tropes, and then added their own southern-fried fratboy take to it. This has inspired generations of bands to...

    Cancer as a Parasite

Good parallels to a revolution. Of course, either way the host must die.
