This has happened to me before. Honestly your better off saving your master project as a template and doing everything as a new project. Just import the files to your template. There is less room for error

I would imagine that you would run your guitar into the DI box and use output one strait into the Interface and then hook the pod up to output 2(through put) and then run that into the Interface. Arm two different tracks for recording. Assign the inputs as necessary.

I like the sound of B better myself. It has a little more punch to it. Septic Flesh is one of my favorite bands.

It only has to be loud if your using a tube amp (They sound better the louder they get). I use a solid state so I record at the same volume that I would normally play at. Most of the tone comes from mic placement anyhow. There really was no set up cost other than a mic, stand, and an xlr cable...

Maybe interference with the computer monitor? I know my 81's pick-up audible noise from my monitor if I'm facing towards it.

In my "amp simmin" days i used to use TH1 and I thought is was the best one out there. Anymore though, there is no replacement for a well mic'd cab.
