    Tom Araya disses new Metallica

Again, extremely well said. Ditto on this. Scott himself said the Metallica demo helped develop Anthrax's sound. Charlie is a super talented dude, but he always sounds like a woman scorned to me.

I could not put it any better. Ditto.

If Bush was still in the band they might have a chance. Now that they have Cookie Monster for a singer, doubtful. Besides, at this point I'd be more excited to see Down anyway.

Just heard Unforgiven III. It's f'ing great. Bigtime soaring vocals and melody. Definitely the most radio friendly tune, but still a rocker. So far I've yet to hear anything I don't like. Matter of fact, I'd say everything I've heard kicks f'ing ass. I don't recall the last time I was able...

I initially balked at that title myself, but I've read a lot of comments around the net that say it's the best of the three. I haven't heard it myself yet. I love everything else I've heard so far, so I expect it will at least be decent.

    Feeling nostalgic

Isn't that the Charvel Surfcaster he busted out for that album? If I remember correctly he had it modded to run off off his JB pickups because it came with single-coils. As a side note, this video is further proof that they should have kept Bush in the fold. What an amazing album.

    New Metallica Single

Go to Metallica.com and listen to My Apocalypse and tell me his vocals are totally shot. He sounds awesome on that song. Speaking of My Apocalypse, is it safe to say that's the best thing they've written since Justice? I think I listened to that stream eight times in row because I couldn't...

    New Metallica Single

The test of a good song is the hook. After one listen to Cyanide I was walking around with the chorus stuck in my head for days: "Cyanide...I've already died...it's just the funeral I've been waiting for..." etc. It gets better with every listen, the main riff is good, and Rob's bass sounds...

    Anthrax Video.....

Awesome riffs, mediocre melody, and the worst singer in the history of the band. Cookie, cookie, cookie! Prediction - New SOD record not far behind this.

    Only w/ Dan singing

Not a fan of the new guy, sorry to say. He's got a great hardcore voice, but what I always liked about Anthrax was the "melody to go along with the madness." Now they sound like 150 other screamo bands out there. And contrary to what many people have said, he DOES sound a lot like Anselmo...

    Caggiano sucks

One more thing: If you read my original message I gave him props for his stage presence. I think his attitude is great, he's got a good ear for producing, and is great for the band. I'm just not a fan of the solos. Sorry. And to respond to another comment, he does have good tone. As good...

    Caggiano sucks

Sorry to burst your bubble chief, but I've been playing guitar for about 15 years and have played live, so I have a pretty good foundation to base my opinion on. He stuff lacks melody and sounds like a bunch of hacked together notes. He usually play the first 3 or 4 bars of the solo then goes...

    Caggiano sucks

Improv is great is you are good at it. He's hasn't impressed me much. I like hearing solos that are at least "close" to what they originally sounded like. They are part of the song! Why not change the words, drop the solos, and rearrange the songs too? Given a chance to really lay some...

    Caggiano sucks

Ok, I'm usually somewhat reserved in my opinions here and I haven't posted in 6-9 months or so, but what the hell is Scott smoking when he says Caggiano is the one of the "...best guitar players he's ever played with..."? I mean, he slaughters all the old solos and his new stuff is nothing to...
