    House Music?

I'm not sure it was Jorn's version (which is good)... though my ears were ringing, it sounded more like the Dublin Death Patrol's version of "Cold Sweat." Which is a killer side project of largely Testament members.

    Cheers and Jeers Thread

CHEERS - To the bands and the fans for perservering through the technical problems, which no one seems to want to address. Could have been more disasterous, but due to the mostly positive attitudes it wasn't. Hats off. - Freak Kitchen... 'nuff said!!! - Pagan's Mind... INCREDIBLE and worth...

Vanden Plas will not perform at the Showcase

If Zak is hanging around all weekend... is Circle II CIrcle possible? I know that breaks the "every 2" rule... but under such circumstances, why not?

Primal Fear - Face The Emptiness

Yeah, I feel this way... but actually more so about "The Man (That I Don't Know)". Talk about an instant chill bump classic. Face the Emptiness probably gets the official nod due to it's more upbeat tempo though. It's an anthem for realists, that's for sure.

The annual roster clue (PP USA IX):

Hmmm... Kamelot and Circus Maximus as the returnees would be killer. 6 US debuts, there's a mighty monkey wrench to chew on. Excalion, Iron Savior, Wintersun, and Kiuas would all be excellent choices. As far as Symphony X... wouldn't it just be poetic justice for them to headline Progpower X?

Say hello to your next progpower usa band....

This band is the find of the century. Is it too late to get them on the PP8 Sampler CD? Maybe add them to the between bands house music? There is also a myspace music page for Complete where the magical song of Hoogie Boogie Land can actually be downloaded. May it spread like wildfire...

JORN - LIVE CD FROM PROGPOWER USA DUE SEPT 21?

I guess this move scraps any brownie points Jorn 'ole boy got for stepping up to replace Nevermore last year. Ah, the drama. Like sand through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives...

    Norther for a future ProgPower!

A HUGE second for Norther... one of my personally favorite bands. Every band mentioned in this thread (Kalmah and Ensiferum namely) would be incredible. I'll throw out another I'd love to see... The Duskfall.

    Sonic Syndicate "Only Inhuman"!! WOW!

This is closer to Atreyu/Mendeed/Mnemic than anything Soilwork. The aggresion, melody, etc is pampers-quality compared to what Speed and the boys can put out... very respectively in my opinion. Though a few of the tracks are undeniably catchy, I will admit. I would say they need to drop the...

The Official What the Hell is Going On Wednesday Night?

The long awaited, much bally-hooed, overhyped Progpower debut of... Dorian!!! Seriously, EPICA is scheduled to be in Nashville, TN on that Wednesday (10/3) per their website. That just hurts since it's soooo close to being reasonable, though... not. Does $15/head merit a helicopter?

    Excalion

I recently came across this great Finnish (surprise) band after reading the May CD reviews on metal-rules.com... couldn't stop listening to their myspace profile: http://www.myspace.com/excalion Have since purchased their latest CD, Waterlines, and for me it's certainly a Top 5 release of...

    Trivium's new video

To rehash slightly old wounds... would Whitesnake/Trivium make a great metal show? Certainly. Would either be embraced at a PP by the diehard prog/power fanboys? Definitely not. The townsfolk would surely grab skillets, torches, and pitchforks. All the same, I saw Trivium on the '05 US...

Aqua Teen Movie - The Metal Opening

I am not a rabid fan of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force show on adult swim, but this is an incredibly funny, METAL opening from the recently released movie. Song done by Mastodon (I believe)... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uexh68dm56w
