"The Lotus Eater" is conceptually immaculate; shut the hell up.

Ah, f*ck you. Should Opeth leave out a part just because it might be predictable to an asshole like you? The whole song sounds incredible to me and to a lot of other people. With that said, I'm now leaving the forums. I can't stand all the bullshit. :)

Seated Or Standing At Opeth Shows?

No idea. Haven't seen Opeth live before, but I imagine I would like headbanging just as much as sitting down and enjoying the show. But I have to admit, I'm usually a lot taller than everyone else at concerts, and that can be a pain in the ass ("can I stand in front of you??"). ;)

"The Lotus Eater" is conceptually immaculate; shut the hell up.

First good thread I've seen in weeks. Although like someone else said, not many here will have the patience to read or understand it. I think the topic creator got his point through, so in defense for the Lotus Eater "circus" part, I have to say that I think it fits perfectly. It's completely...

Coil - extended version with different ending

It's almost like Mike made a second voice to the melody, but had Natalie sing it by herself instead. It's what most people would expect from a song like this, and not putting them together made this song very good, in my opinion. I can always sing the second voice myself if I want to hear it. :)

Death or melodic? Which one brought you to Opeth?

Before Opeth, the only bands I really listened to were Pain of Salvation and Dream Theater. Got introduced to Opeth by my brother, first album I listened to was Damnation. Didn't really want to listen to anything else at the time, because I couldn't stand the growling. Luckily, I changed my...

    Axe on Rehearsal Tapes

He seemed like a nice guy in Rehearsal Tapes... and funny too. :D You know, Lopez is one of my great inspirations when it comes to drumming. But after listening to the album a few times, I have to say that Axe is right up there with him! Perhaps not as innovative as Lopez with the more mellow...

Prog vs Metal - which one do you stand for

Good post. Defining music is sometimes necessary though, since we've got so much music in the world. The term progressive, in my mind, is just a label for music that have a lot of influence from more than one genre.

Ghost Reveries haters - state your case!

!! :erk: One of my favorite parts. Discussing what songs or parts are crap is pretty futile though, there's always going to be people that disagrees.

    Mail from the End

Norway here, got the package today, but I've got to pick it up at the postoffice 'cause apparently, it wouldn't fit in the mailbox. :) I think I'm finally going to treat myself to GTA4 just to make the day more special. Shouldn't be long before other europeans receive the package. I paid...

Let the Celebrations Begin WATERSHED has been unleashed

I think that one of the things that Opeth does right is to use a lot of "classic" stuff like blues scales and such... many new bands completely overlook older music and miss out on that.

    New Opeth.com site

I thought this was a joke at first. Got a menu up top and a "page not found" message all over the screen.

The Omega Order: Mellotron Heart- Exclusive Digital Delivery for Opeth Pre-Order

Now this is good customer service. It was said that not everyone would receive it, and I think it's good that they care enough to put it up for download. I still want the single, but this will have to do for now. :)

    Reviews for Watershed

I read two or three giving it 5.5/10 and 6.5/10... bad luck then.
