It's a matter of taste really. I love Torn, but I suppose people who were extremely displeased with MMA (and there are quite a few of them) were dissapointed that some of that new direction remained in Torn. There's no denying that it's more straightforward and a bit less progressive than albums...

For me it sort of did the opposite. Reminded me exactly why I like the more powery IE (the albums right before TGB) more than the thrashy IE, that came before. Without a doubt, Diary is better than this. This song is nice, but it sounds too much like a band that hasn't really come together yet...

Unfortunately there's not much to choose from. Both Waves of Visual Decay and Conspiracy In Mind are amazing, but Waves wins by a landslide, so I'd say get that first.

I just listened to "Deep Unknown", and while it isn't dissapointing at all, that's only because my expectations were very low. In fact, instrumentally it's a very good song, which is pretty surprising considering Tolkki didn't write it, but all the vocals were crap. The verses are horrible...

Still, it could be cool to hear Matt singing some of the older songs. I've always wondered how that would sound, and if there are already recordings... But more importantly, when is the next album coming out? :grin:

The opening riff is great, the solo is very good too. Other than that it's a nice song, can't say it's great though. Maybe it just takes some getting used to. And I'm not sure, but I think something about the mixing is a little off, it didn't really sound right.

Sounds horrible. I'm sure it's not a Pyramaze cover (and what would be the point of them covering it anyway if both original and cover are with Matt...?). And btw, the original is definately one of IE's most brilliant songs ever, and also one of Matt's best performances.

It's a good song, but something about it didn't really reach me, I felt like it was lacking something. Songs like Take One and Nosferatu are much better.

Growling is an issure for me too. Most bands seem to just use growling because they feel their genre demands it, but very few have real power behind the growls and have it really connect to the music. Amon Amarth is imo the biggest exception, Johan Hegg's growls are fucking powerful, and they...

Rumors mean absolutely nothing. All we have is random speculations and that means shit. Basically, unless there's an official announcement we won't know why it was cancelled, and it doesn't matter anyway. It was cancelled, it sucks, but hopefully we'll all see them live sometime in the future...

That's one hell of a pity, for all the fans that bought tickets and most of all for Evergrey themselves. I hope they'll reschedule soon, the world is in need of their kickass live music!
