Hi,

I finished the mix for my band first recording. Here's a sample of it.

I used slate (it may sound obvious) and impulse with tube heads. The bass is a a guitar with a EHX micropog (that's what we use live(we're three, two guitars and a drummer)).

I learned almost everything on this forum :) What do you guys think about the sound?

The vocals are buried in sound but that's on purpose (maybe too much...)

Thanks for your input

Sounds very wasted (in a positive way).
But I think the vocals could be really a little bit louder.

What did you use for the guitars? They sound really evil :D

Thanks a lot fot the input:)

The guitars are quad tracked. We recorded 2 tracks with an orange thunderverb 200 and 2 tracks with a 70's orange or120 head which was deffective (I learned that later). Actually the or120 produced totally weird assymetrical waveform which could be one of the reason for that guitar sound. We ran both head into a suhr iso line out to my soundcard, then to Kefir with some mesa OS redwire impulses. The processing after that was very classical, low pass at 9k, C4 to tame the low mid and some light EQ adjustment. Also when we hit the low string (which happens a lot :D) both guitars are often slightly out of tune and I think it makes them sounds bigger even if I couldn't explain why.
