I disagree. The language of thrash has a certain poetry all of its own. Try all the lyrics on Demolition Hammer's Tortured Existence album. Brilliant and perfect.
Fucking awesome. The vocals seem a bit loud though. Anyone else think that?
The title track, In Memoriam and Descent into Madness. Just..... Holy shit man. There was also a song near the middle that fucked my brain, but I forgot what it was.
I tend to find that such bands just shout 'brutal' sounding words or phrases with no real connection
I kind of feel like you've missed the point! Yes that's what they do! But the joy is in a set of lyrics that are so brutally ridiculous that they put a massive smile on your face...
Anyone else notice Joel little bass lick in Decent Into Madness?
True I guess, but I find it kinda disconcerting when bands with those lyrics, and their fans, don't realise how ridiculous they sound
Also if lyrics don't matter then surely it doesn't matter that In Memoriam is for and about Mike?

To use a cliche, it's the thought that counts. Classical music, for example, does not contain any lyrics, and that doesn't detract from the meaning of the song
