This record just keeps getting better and better the more I listen to it.

The first two tracks come across a lot stronger in the context of the full album than they did as standalone tracks pre-launched over the internet, IMO... but the album just takes off to a whole new level after those two anyway.

Isle Of Avalon is still probably my favourite, i just think it's fucking spectacular. Starblind I dig a lot too because it's such a departure from the standard Maiden riffing.

There's a couple of others too that I've become particularly fond of, for example The Talisman which I wasn't that mad about right away but I dig it a lot now.

Stellar album IMO. Maiden are still at the top of their game after all these years.

UP 'EM!

I like the majority of it. Not a fan of Coming Home or The Alchemist, and I think When the Wild Wind Blows is tremendously overrated. I like everything else though.

Favourite song: The Talisman

yeah WTWWB is good and all, but i still kinda don't get why that's the song everyone was raving about in the reviews I read before I got the album... it's good and all but IMO I wouldn't say it stands out above the other tracks.

I still give it a listen every 3-4 days, although I have probably listened to AMOLAD almost as much since TFF came out. I think it is a great album, favourite songs are Mother of Mercy, Coming Home and The Talisman.

I was thinking about asking this question this morning! I hadn't listened to it for a couple of weeks and The Man Who Would Be King turned up on my random playlist on the way to work, and just reminded how great the album is. It's one of the songs I didn't realty dig at the start but this morning it just hit all the right buttons. Not the biggest fan of the first two songs, but it's still awesome.

I listened to it too much the first few weeks and have no desire to go back to it for a while.

In other news, the Black Country Communion album is awesome (what I've heard so far anyway).

After many listens I think its pretty great and definitely shows the guys still have it, as well as the ability to keep moving forward with songwriting. I think much of it takes many listens as the hooks are more imbedded in subtle melody than screaming vocals and riffs, but they are there for those who look. I love the first two tracks, much more than I did pre-album release. They are favs along with Mother of Mercy, but I do love the prog of the second half as well. I agree that Wild Wind doesn't seem to be a standout and it is odd that it gets alot of attention, but I do still like it.

I'm stoked that I'm seeing them on the first show of the next leg of the tour, not knowing how the setlist will work is pretty exciting.

Overall I think the album is pretty adventurous and solid proggy reunion era Maiden. If you like them post 1999 you will like it, if not you might like it. I still rate DoD and especially AMOLAD higher though, which I find odd that almost all reviews I read say the opposite and that it is a return to the form of BNW, better than the previous two. Oh well.

Pretty surprised some of you guys aren't particularly interested in hearing it / relistening to it.
